Unhappy Help! Attempting OBE's, painful vibrations!

I've been playing around with a mixture of meditation to try to acchieve OBE's (I was taught to meditate in 2nd grade so am not unskilled) Reading in the forum the closest method to the one I am seeming to use is Nap Induced Astral Projection. I can't help it, I meditate too deply and fall asleep. When I wake up however (20min-1hour later)... I can then roll over close my eyes and my whole body vibrates. I know that this is generally a good sign, but I hear it in my ears really loudly like a mixture of buzzing and chiming... and it physically hurts! Today I tried to endure it to move past that part, but it was unberable. My question is, is this normal at all? And... am I interpreting this correctly... is this the beginning of an OBE?

Sounds to me like you are experiencing an awakening of kundalini. I won't get into much detail but if you are messing around with opening chakra's this is one that should be left alone. Unless you are informed about this step and have done it right it can be "scary and painfull" I guess.. atleast to some I thought it was rather unique and spiritual. I didn't know what it was the first time either. Though I do have a rather intense pain threshhold, so that coulda countered what you felt. Look up kundalini / chakra stimulating and it should guide you in the right direction to keep this from being a painfull experience again.

This by the way is not necassary to achieve the vibrations required to attain OBE. It is on a higher vibration level by far. It might however be used to reach higher planes once you achieve OBE and want to advance into other realms.

Thank you fopr the advice... It does sound somewhat similar to what I have been experiencing. However I am not doing chakra meditation prior to its happening. I have used this form of meditiation in the past, and my current form does include some balancing energy meditation. I will try to steer clear of this though as I know I'm just not ready for it. All I want is to acchieve an AP (for now). I'm finally at a point in my life where I am truly not scared anymore.

I get the same thing. Sometimes the vibrations can be really disturbing or even painful. By the time you get a wave or two of them, you should be good to exit your body / enter a dream.

Have you read Clairity's tips for how to deal with this? I wouldn't really have anything to add to what she posted from Matt Jones:

Whenever I had vibrations from this sort of experince I never felt pain. The hardest thing to endure for me was the sound....I never know that going into that sort of state while the vibrations persisted could induce pain.

I've never had a case of vibrations being painfull myself. Although the sound can be quite intense, If it were a normal sound you'd be worried about damaging your hearing. However this sound is not being "heard" through your ears. That makes it 100% safe, there is even a technique to make this "sound" grow louder and louder, Higher and higher pitch to eventually get enough vibrations goin to AP.

i have also had these powerful vibrations prior to OBE, and sometimes they do hurt, its like a deep throbbing pain that runs up and down the body.

i have also experienced powerful kundalini rising, and i don't think you have to worry about the pain being anything to do with that. i never had any pain with kundalini rising, while the vibrations were also certainly very strong, they were much higher, less physically felt vibrations, more auric, while the OBE ones seemed to cause pain all the way through the physical body, through the muscles and even the bones it seemed.

never had any really loud sound with it though. heard a bell tolling once, and then read that that happens if you visit the akashic records.

Do you remember the rest of that experience? Learn anything good?

I've had them (loudy ones) several times. Yeah they are strong but it is all in your mind. I mean you really can't get physically hurt. I've had 9 OBEs in 1 month but not with those strong vibration, much like mild ones. I think the key thing is to decide what will you do after you have them. So, yes, in my opinion it is the beginning of an OBE.

      Yeah, here's what happened...

after a couple of hours of meditating, and intending on leaving my body for an AP, i gave up cos nothing seemed to be happening, and i rolled over from my back onto my side. this seemed to trigger something off, because almost straight away, it felt like a giant pair of hands rolled me back onto my back, and i could suddenly hear very clearly the sound of a woman's voice. it had the sound of an old fashioned news report. the kind that they showed in old movie houses during WW2. she was speaking with that old english clipped and posh accent. i couldn't hear exactly what she was saying. couldn't quite make out the words, although i was trying really hard to hear what she was saying. i was totally aware and lucid, although i couldnt see anything. this was all just sound based. then i heard her announce the date, 1913, really clearly, then a bell tolled really loudly, and suddenly i was in the middle of a courtroom scene. i could now see clearly and i was sitting in the dock of an old courtroom. it looked like a scene from a cowboy movie, mid-west america maybe a hundred or so years ago. it was all wooden and quite small. across the court from me was a cowboy looking man. a white man speaking in a thick american accent. he was drunk and staggering around, and swingin something round in the air. it looked a bit like a rock in a sling or something. he was very angry and was shouting at me. i was just sitting still and quiet through this. it was like i was being shown a film real or something, but i was seeing it through the eyes of the man in the dock. and it was a man, it wasn't me. then i was back in my body in my bed. i was surprised to find that i was ling on my side still. i was expecting to be on my back, as i had felt this giant pair of hands roll me over at the start of the experience. i didn't 'wake up' cos i'd not been to 'sleep'. as i thought about it, i got the feeling i might have been a native american or something, cos although i couldnt pinpoint specific words that the cowboy had shouted at me, it had that venom that only racial or cultural differences can give rise to.

so i then randomly came across a book that had a chapter on Akashic Records in it, and the author said that many people who claim to be able to access akasha say that they hear a bell tolling when they enter.

i never saw a building, structure or form of it from the outside, just appeared within what i percieved to be a record. like someone just pressed the play button on a DVD player, and the scene was re-played around me with me as one of the central characters.

in fact it was exactly like the scenario where Harry Potter falls into the Penseive.

it made me wonder whether i had been this man in the dock in one of my previous incarnations, and that i had accessed one of my own past life memories, or whether i had just accidentally stumbled across a random event contained within someone else's record.

What exactly do you guys mean with vibrations? Do you actually mean physical vibrations of the body, like you're in some kind of shaker? Someone care to describe precisely what exactly these vibrations are and where you feel them?

I had this dream once, where my whole body started to vibrate, litterally, like I was in some kind of shaking device. I knew my body was actually still, but I had that sensation tho.. I was shaking so hard and so fast, that it was on the edge of unpleasant, but it was a pretty cool sensation nonetheless.. so is this the kind of vibrations you guys are talking about? After those vibrations I got up out of my bed under the illusion I woken up, and then I got in again to go back to sleep, but it was false awakening. So is this the vibrations I hear about? Or what kind of vibrations are you guys talking about?

What a cool experience. It does sound like you were being shown something, or tapping into a past event. It reminds me of that old TV show Quantum Leap, where the guy would take control of people's bodies to fix events from the past.

I'm talking about the humming or buzzing I often feel during hypnagogia. Right when I am falling asleep into a dream, I feel my body lying in bed buzzing and vibrating like crazy.

I've never had it happen when already in a dream. I know others try to do it on purpose to vibrate themselves into higher energy states within a dream or OBE. Of course, that starts to assume a specific belief system.
