      The Knock Out

Does anyone believe it is possible to somehow get into your unconscious mind or basicallly the part of your brain that stays awake while you are knocked out. because if you have ever been knocked out for any period of time when you wake up you still remember yourself. so for me it almost seems like all that you could ever truly become in life is locked away in that part of your brain so in case anything happens you wont forget about yourself. And if it were possible to get inside that part of your brain which is obviously a part which you have no control over what would you experience. And what if instead of having normal dreams you fell asleep into the unconscious part of your brain would it even be possible. What if you were stuck in the unconscious mind rather than the conscious one a mind were you don't truly exist at all. What if you could remember something after being knocked out. What if the unconscious mind had more control over what we do than are conscious mind would that even be possible. Has anyone ever experienced yourself.

you've asked a lot of tricky questions! but let's slow down a moment and re-examine all that the subconscious mind does

(technically the unconscious mind is just that - unconscious. its the part of your mind making sure you still breathe, and all of your other involuntary functions.)

(what you really mean, is the subconscious mind)

the subconscious mind as we understand thus far - seems to be the seat of our emotions. our emotions seem involuntary. when you're upset its hard to stop being upset and so on. the subcon. is the one triggering the emotion. it also remembers all the crap we can't. our dreams show this nicely - Anyone who has ever had a life like dream is living the proof that our memories can be photographic

We are only conscious of what we are holding our consciousness on. But the subconscious is paying attention the the entire picture through all the senses. Imagine a noisy cafeteria, you're only listening to your friends. But someone from across the room says your name and bam, your tune into their voice. Your subconscious was passively listening to all that it could.

It's a shit lot of information for our subconscious to process! And its why we dream. We don't dream for our conscious mind, technically we are still conscious in every dream. (And it's because we rely so much on our subconscious to tell when something is out of place - that we don't even realize were dreaming)

We have to dream, so our subconscious mind can go through its daily ritual of deciding what information it gathered today is important. And what's garbage. Our information space is limited, so sorting through the day is important.

"What if the unconscious mind had more control over what we do than are conscious mind would that even be possible"

Actually, for a lot of us, our subconscious mind is running the show. Us pathetic modern folk tend to dislike our lives so much, we retreat to the back of our nagging minds and we pay absolutely no attention to life. Just zone out.

But, our subconscious isn't actually in control. And it never was. And never will be.

When it triggers an emotion, it is doing so based on how you HAVE reacted in the past. Creating emotional tendencies primarily based on past experience.

But the initial deciding factor on how to feel about something when it happens, still comes from you. Approach life positively, and you will eventually feel happier everyday. You'll even find yourself smiling and laughing at things that didn't make you smile or laugh before!! Approach life negatively, and you will find it harder to laugh or smile in the same situations.

"because if you have ever been knocked out for any period of time when you wake up you still remember yourself. so for me it almost seems like all that you could ever truly become in life is locked away in that part of your brain so in case anything happens you wont forget about yourself."

since our subcon. is the seat of our memories, yes, that is its truest function, that you don't forget about yourself. But this is the biggest and important difference between the subcon. and the conscious. The subcon. mind is stuck on who you WERE. While its great to have some day to day continuation, we need to remember that every day, hell every moment if we choose to, we can recreate who we ARE.

And we also need to remember, that while we dream, its the subcon. that needs to dream so it can continue making proper tendencies. We, our true self, on the other hand is free to do whatever the hell we want while our subcon. processes the day.

"And if it were possible to get inside that part of your brain which is obviously a part which you have no control over what would you experience."

a mental overload!!! more memories than you want to know.

I don't think the subconscious mind holds all that we are. (At least not the subconscious in the brain) Only what we were. And while we have an ego, I believe, we create this ego through life. We aren't born with it. Essentially, all subconscious minds are exactly the same in that they function exactly the same. Processing every detail, every moment, every memory, our reactions and creating tendencies based on how we react. And these tendencies become an ego personality.

But our subcon. seems to have our best interest in mind, doing more than just processing memories and creating tendencies.

When we want to forget a painful memory and ignore a problem in our personality - our subcon. cheats a little. It simply hides this memory from view, until we are ready to face it.

We tend to blame our subconscious for our vices and addictions. But when we try to get over an addiction and we can't, our subconscious will actually begin to communicate why.

Sensations let us know the health of our body. Emotions, triggered by our subconscious, do the same thing. Emotions let us know the state of our mind. Your subcon is being true. It's not lying to you, or out to deceive you, or out to make you miserable. Painful emotions arise so that you know something is wrong, something is out of place in your mind or life, that is contradictory to what makes you happy. If you ignore these emotions the subcon. doesn't give up.

It will continue to turn your attention to whats wrong in other ways. You get stress, or restless nights, bad dreams, and so on.

At the same time, your body language, which is subconsciously controlled if you don't control it, is always accurately depicting your mental state. It's communicating to others, the truth about how you feel. Even being so honest and truthful, as to communicate to others if you are being dishonest. Its interesting to note, that our subcon. doesn't like lying.

the tendency of our subcon to show us what is wrong in our psyche, and even let other people know through body language whats wrong with you, is enough to make me question if our subcon is limited to the physical brain. this doesn't seem to be the same sub.conscious that has to process day to day activity - or else it melts down. This aspect seems completely knowing. Less focused on deciding what goes in the memory box of who you were, and more focused on helping you be all that you are.

but maybe the right brain holds some clues to our mysterious subconscious/God consciousness. new research suggests the right brain is underused, largely ignored by modern men. its creative, lives entirely in the moment - absorbing every detail - it lacks an I consciousness and instead feels 'one' with everything. Since it lives in the moment it's not hung up in the past - making the subconscious memory sorting useless. This means the right brain doesn't need to sleep nearly as often as our left brain does. If we could live in the right brain, we could possibly go days, if not weeks before needing to rest. Your ego personality, essentially wouldn't exist.

And just maybe, this is where you 'go' when you are unconscious. Your consciousness drifts into the right brain while the left brain is scrabbling to figure out what happened. And while you are in your right brain consciousness, well, you're at peace. And maybe the reason we don't remember, is because our right and left brain don't seem to communicate so well.

      *******************

I think to experience the subcon. is to experience your life in a flash, as if you were dying. An overload of memories and emotions.

But I think experiencing the right brain is to experience yourself, since we are free from past emotions and memories - as only the Now exists.
