Have you ever thought that the 'Dream world' could be an alternative universe?. ♥

I always find myself wondering about alternative universes, worlds, realities and dimensions? Not something i understand entirely but i am going to be doing some research in the near future. But i sometimes find myself thinking, Could the dream world be another dimension in which we are living?. I would like to hear your views&Opinions, I find this topic to be very interesting. Thank~you for reading&I look forward to reading your replies

I use to have thoughts like this until I focused more on lucid dreaming which raised more awareness on the mind-body relations during sleep.

When I was a little kid, I use to think that my dreams would be broadcasted live on t.v. for some reason... and that everyone can see them.

The explanation behind the dreams is no definite one. I do not believe that there are such things as alternate universes we visit every time we have a dream. Personally, I will not think along those lines unless something significant occurs. Of course there are many universes in the said 'Multiverse', but what you are describing does not seem likely. Divert more attention to the topic of lucid dreams, because it will be worth it in the long run.

Well some people who have had near-deaths claim they have had out-of-bodies and have flown up to space and stuff like that. I'm not sure if it could be all in their not-dead-yet-brain or not. I guess we'll find out when were dead.

Well there is always the very likely chance we'll discover nothing, because we'll no longer exist to evaluate what happened to us. It's always worth bearing that in mind. Death may not answer any questions at all, maybe death will simply be the universe without us. It'll just leave our lives and the fruits of our lives for further generations to ponder the same questions.

As for the original topic you posted, it's an interesting point. I've experienced some pretty exotic states of mind in my time on planet earth. Some of which have made me consider this question very seriously.
It would seem that current quantum physics theories take the idea of a multi-verse very seriously. The real question is, is there anything special about humans or consciousness? what would be special about us to allow us to experience alternate dimensions? Are we just as tied to this reality as much as a rock, flower, ape etc?

It's a nice thought though, but the ramifications would be immense if there was any truth behind it. I'd shudder to think how many other-dimensional babies i've inadvertenly fathered

It's likely. There are several different concepts commonly used.

      Start at Wiki:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_physics
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_mind

      Pretty pictures.

Universe is a weird weird place.

Fascinating stuff. Hard science, not just idle philosophizing.

Our science is still puny. Do keep an open mind. Read broadly and critically.

You might like some books by Carlos Castaneda

After reading a half a dozen of them, I would have to agree -

I think we see energy from the different worlds/realities in our dreams, but that we could only understand that foreign energy by seeing it in terms of our existing world.

I guess anything is possible! However I don't think dreams are an alternate universe. I think they are simply the result of neurons firing inside the human brain which creates a fairly good simulation of the universe we are in.

All I know is that my gut says maybe.
Life in a box is better than no life at all, I expect. You'd have a chance, at least. You could lie there thinking, "Well. At least I'm not dead.'

Well, I don't just think it is - I am thoroughly convinced that it is - and not just one alternative universe/dimension, but multiple.

Yeah has thought about it, hope it isn't, I mean, that would make me a mass murdered, and people go crazy about that stuff <.<
Though if another dimension is possible, it would be too that we are dreaming other people in ther non-lucid form lol
Still hope not, would be worse...

Your dream, is your own universe, which you have created.
