Very frightening futuristic dream

Hello, it may seem odd this is my first post here but I am very frightened about a dream I had last night. In the dream it was night, and I was standing by thes side of a road. I looked up and I saw what some nasa satellite pictures perceive as a galaxy. The nucleus of the galaxy was expanding outward rather rapidly and was threatening to swallow the earth. An old man was standing on the otherside of the street, and I ran to him, and we hugged each other in a mutual understanding that this was the end. I closed my eyes and the earth shook and there was a blinding flash, at this I opened my eyes and looked at the sky and shooting star-like objects were falling through the atmosphere, and it appeared the stars had vanished. Not long after, that apparent darkness cleared and there were many new planets within the immediate proximity of the earth, illuminated to clarity by the sun on the opposite side of the world. One of these planets hurled into another and a large piece of it traversed very closely to the northern horizon, and collided with the earth at some point north. When it hit the earth, the world spun and I held onto a lampost to keep from flying away, the sun was looping around repeatedly as the world was being spun on it's axis. When it stopped, everything grew black and I woke up and it was 9am, I looked outside and the sun had not even risen yet as the timezones had been upset by the axis-shift, and I could not see the sky as there was a rather violent storm raging. With this I woke up. I googled and watched a show on the history channel about the end of the world occuring in 2012 due to a possible pole-shift which would severely disrupt the climate. It also suggested this would happen because the earth, sun, and a black hole in the center of the milky way would be aligned. Does anyone think this dream was somewhat prophetic in nature? I am very very scared and I feel doomed. Thank you for any replies.

Please don't worry. Nobody really knows what will happen in 2012, but if what you dreamt does happen, it will be for the better. Also, alot of times dreams do not mean much.

Where you reading about, or have you ever read about 2012 prior to this? If yes, there is your answer. Your mind just recalled the memories and decided to give you a nice dream. No one knows if anything will even happen then, but dont worry about it. We cant do anything anyway.

No, I had done no prior research into this and I usually do not experience dreams at all. The doomed feeling has somewhat subsided now but it's disturbing to have what I saw in the dream still floating around in my head, I was a skeptic to 2012 but now I don't know... Hopefully we all have full lives right? Thanks for your replies.

I agree with what everybody else said. Maybe it doesn't mean anything, maybe nothing will even happen in 2012, if something does happen it's all natural and nature is always balanced, y'know maybe the Myans just got really tired of counting for so long they just decided to stop there. Who knows? But try not to fret. =)

Though its probably dead-certain that a pole shift will happen in the near future (i'm assuming in the next hundred year or so), 2012 might not mean anything at all in this regard. Its just an end of an Age, but Ages don't just end point-blank, there are many levels of transition, just like you don't become an adult in the blink of an eye. And don't worry about 2012. Will it do you any good? Worrying, that is. It will only cause you distress. This is not to say that you should ignore or discard it, you only need to consider it vis-a-vis 'Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you' Probably nothing prophetic about your dream... and . . . i think it was far too cool to be frightening. Just strap a rope around the planet and ride it!
