      Dream sharing

Has there been any evidence that this does/doesn't work? my friednjust got into Lucid dreming, and we figured that if it worked, then we could double our LD count, since we could make the other person lucid. I have searched around and have not found any conclusive evidence

No "hard" evidence exists. Quite logical, becayse these experiences are 100% subjective and those are near impossible to measure by sience. Doesnt mean it's not possible, though. Just explore .

My friend and I are going to experiment with it. we will try to find each other, or meet at a certain place we decided upon. after we get some results, we'll let you know. Unfortuneatley, were both newbies at this, and neither of us have had an LD yet

Some people will swear that they have shared dreams, and others will tell you it's just bogus...Personally though, when I was little (and a natural LDer), my sister (who I think was also a natural) and I had the same dream on the same night, woke up at slightly different times (within 15 minutes of eachother) and told our mom about it...separately, and with with enough specific details to make it the SAME dream. She thought that was wierd and talked to us about it (to see if we'd talked about it beforehand). We had been unaware that we'd had the same dream, but thought it was cool. It never happened again, but...that dosn't mean that it won't. So that's the extent of my experience with shared dreams (you can see I'm a real vetran ). Look through the forums and find the people who have had more experience, and PM them. Most of them would be more than happy to answer your questions.
      ...And then to dream...

There is no evidence that it works, just personal stories of this happening.

You don't even need to be lucid to experience this. If you say have a personal object of the other person you can sleep with then by virtue or aquiring the object with the intent or dream sharing and taking it to bed with you it will likely work. I have done this many many times. Sometimes it might take more than one night or one try or whatever.

no there is no evidence, and it would be very hard to prove, since there is no evidence to leave behind. Lets say me and you had a shared dream, and the next day we talked about it and realized. We would know that it exists, but we wouldn't be able to prove it.

I've been thinking that there should be a carefully controlled experiment where two people, before going to sleep, secretly write down their own detailed code (such as a random group of letters and numbers to memorize) and conceal them somewhere, and then both have a lucid dream where they meet each other and exchange the exact codes. Once they awake, they must report what the other's code was, and if they are both exactly correct according to the papers, then it's proven.

Firstly, I would like to say that I believe in shared dreaming because I have been doing it routinely. Secondly, there are some assumptions you are making that you may not realize. You assume that one lucid person can make another person lucid. This may or may not be true. I have never tried to make a person lucid, nor do I intend to try and do that any time soon, which leads to my second observation about your assumptions.

Just because two people have a shared dream, whether lucid or not, one person may remember it, and the other may not, or both may forget it. This can make it seem like the shared dream did not happen.

Increasing dream recall is key to lucid dreaming. Becoming a regular lucid dreamer makes shared dreaming much easier since you can decide to find someone in a lucid dream.

That is a good idea, except letters and numbers are hard for a lot of people to remember or see in a dream. I know some people can, but for me, not so much. Maybe an image or something would work better. I am not really trying to prove that I can do it. I'd rather people prove it to themselves. That's a lot more fun anyway.

You can check out my and Raven Knight's dream journals to see our shared dreams. Of course, we could be colluding and making it all up, and we could even be the same person. But, then again, couldn't all the people doing the Tasks of the Month be making their dreams up? But then again, aren't all dreams made up?
