Accesing the astral plane/other planes of exsistence

Is it possible to travel to other dimensions and planes whilst lucid dreaming? Or even change it into an OBE in the physical world? I'm really wanting to go exploring in space or on the astral plane only I haven't been able to project yet, I've been at it for about a year. However in the past month I've had my first 3 lucid dreams, the first 2 being short ones but my one last night was much more controlled and was about an hour, maybe 45 minutes so if it's possible then how?

The best advice I ever received for attempting to turn a lucid dream into an astral projection on the higher plane is to meditate within the lucid dream. I've done this a few times. Sat down in my lucid dream and meditated, and pretty much immediately I was transported into higher astral planes where I received some pretty amazing gifts, had full assess to Akashic Records, etc. Which reminds me, I should try this again.

edit: also, this is very different from an astral projection onto the lower plane...our own physical world...which usually is the result of struggling to get out of your body during sleep paralysis/false awakening.

      Akashic Records?

I have meditated in a dream to remote view an enemy. That was trippy. I fell asleep in an LD, then had an FA, which became one of the most vivid AP's of my life. I walked out of my house, and into the street, but I had this amazing feeling of being unbound by my physical body.

I am glad you said this. I am going to meditate in dreams more, and try and AP.

OK!! I have something interesting to tell you about people!!

in my case... i've always wanted to learn to astral proyect (this was before i even knew about lucid dreaming) anyways... i could never get around to achieve it, until i learn about LD... i started trying to lucid dream and i started off with reality checks.. one day it worked!! but here's how it happened...

when i realized i was doing something out of ordinary and impossible (driving while having a laptop on my lap and chating on messenger ) i realized i was dreaming... all of a sudden PUFF immediately! it sends me to my body... my room... i wake up (my mind.. my body still asleep) i experience a little sleep paralysis and wa la!! i start getting out of my body.. i can see my self laying down... i walk away from my body, go thru walls... but then it starts to act like lucid dreaming... like everything is the way it is in real life but details are different... and a lot of people around, and sometimes a monster or two walk into the scene ...

this happends everytime i realize in a dream that i am dreaming... so to me its not like i realize i'm dreaming and continue in the same dream... its never like that.. what happends is that i'm sent to my body AS SOON AS i realize its a dream... and i experience the separation from my body... as it sounds.. i separate from my body at will... but only happends in the middle of a dream..

like this one time i was driving and when i was about to crash against a wall, i stepped on the breaks but i knew i was gonna crash... one second before i crash PUFF i awake in my phisical body and separate from it... leave my body sleeping and lift off!
another time i was being held hostage with other friends by terrorists.. i was on my knees, hands tied to my back, and i guy walks toward me and shoots me in the head.. i remember seeing the blow from the gun and immediatly my body falls to the ground and my soul detaches from the body... and i wonder off around my room... it was AMAZING... i think thats how it feels to die... the guy shoots my head so my body died and my soul got out of the useless body...

      any thoughts anyone???

I never used to think that it was possible, but then some things happened that... encouraged me to overcome my skepticism. I wish I knew how it was possible. I think that there are threads here (probably) discussing how to AP. One just needs to search them out (and I haven't done that yet...)

Yes! Do a little research, and you won't be disappointed! Hearing, or reading rather, about the Akashic Records was something that got me into lucid dreaming. I want to know how to access them. Aquanina, help? I mediate fairly often, but I don't know if I'm experienced enough to meditate successfully in a dream. Is that necessary to access the Records? If you don't mind sharing, could you tell us more about your experience?
      ...And then to dream...

      nice Jessie..

I had a dream like that..it was a non-lucid dream I had. I was also about to be shot in the head..but miraculously I was saved by my mother...if i would have been shot, i may have became lucid.

I've had thoughts of death is just a permanent OOBE. It makes sense metaphysically speaking.

Actually, I did have a dream I was dead...but it was like I was just a free soul, free to do anything I want.

No one could see me, but my mother, I was transparent to her, but still slightly visible..like a ghost or something. Actually death was pretty awesome in my dream. Here is the dream if your interested:

I don't really recall the beginning of the dream too much. Well, in my dream, ok, when i was alive i could go somewhere in the house, like in the attic or secret compartment within the house, there was a guy that lived there, a ghost, a dead person....he wasn't fully visible, like he was a little transparent but i could see him. He wasn't scary and was very friendly. He was black like me, but older, maybe in his late 50's/early 60's.

So, one day i had died...I don't remember how, but suddenly I am with the other guy..he is FULLY visible now! And we talk and stuff. Now i was also worried about my mom, now that I'm dead, I know she misses me, I'm thinking she is very sad that I am dead now. Well when i see her, I'm thinking she can't see me..but I think she can. But she see's me transparently, not all the way visible. If you have a strong connection with a person that died, you will see them transparently.

But being dead was pretty awesome, I could still talk to my alive mother. You can make yourself look like anything. You can teleport. I remember this one, the other spirit or dead guy I was with, we were outside or something, and i went to stand next to him...well he telelported like 10 feet across..then i did the same..all i did was think it. Then i said "Your not the only one with powers". He smiled.

It was pretty damn fun to be dead.

It was a very interesting dream, and I wonder if it like this when you die.

hmm interesting... that sounds more like a lucid dream... mine don't really last that much... i haven't even started speaking to anyone, like you did with that ghost... unfortunately sometimes i push it too much so i wake up.. or my neighbor starts making noises... one time that happend i was flying and i felt this strong force pulling me back... like trying to pull me back to my body... i resisted the force, i didn't wanted to go back to my body yet... but it kept pulling me back from my feet! until it got me back to my body... i woke up and my next door neighbors were making noise, so i guess that woke up my phisical body and made my mind go back so i could fully wake up

wow this sounds amazing, boys. I'll try to meditate in my nexts LD. I wish I can access to Astral Plane. I think once I had a close experience, it wasn't a normal LD but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with AP.

Have you ever flown through the abysses of Andromeda and the skies of dwarf planets which orbit around the binary star of Sirrah?

So what kind of life you lead?

How did you check it was AP and not LD?

One of the other method to have an OBE while being lucid is by saying to yourself "I want to see myself asleep in my room" Most likely the scenery will change and you will see yourself in your room but you must maintain awareness so it won't turn to a regular dream and if you don't have much experience with OBE most likely you will forget the dream or blackout and won't remember anything upon waking.

I've never astrally projected from a lucid dream, but from what I hear it is much easier then to do it before you go to sleep. One method is you jump up and keep going upward while chanting (up I go, out of my body).
Also keep in mind that lucid dreaming & astral projection are different. This means that because you're good at lucid dreaming doesn't mean you will automatically be at astral projection. But yes you can learn.
