Incidence - or can DMT/OOB cure nerve damage?

Hi there peeps of DV! Long time lurker, first time poster. Two nights ago, I "discovered" something that led to me registering here.

The last months I've been starting to get OBEs "naturally" (and SPs, hypnagogic sights and LDs for some years), and I seem to get OBEs a lot more lately. Two nights ago however, I had what was exactly like an OBE but with a twist. I started to float up, and tried to turn around so I could see myself from above, but in the process of turning around, something like a wire of skin/flesh was attached to the back of my bodies (right under the shoulderblade, left side of the spine), and while I turned it snapped off from my astral body. It actually stinged like a motherfucker and it felt like it lasted for a while. I don't completely recall what happened afterwards, only that it hurt for a while and I think I was anxiously trying to get back to my body.

Anyway, later this day I was trying to reflect over what had happened during that OBE. And I figured out that the "wire" was connected to the very same spot where I've had "tingling sensations" in my back for almost a year. (I've been trying to find out what this is before, came up with this thread which is identical to what I've felt, might be back paresthesia (damaged/stuck nerve I guess). I thought to myself that it was kind of fascinating, and didn't really think too much of it. The tingling is extremely annoying when doing several things. However, I did my laundry an hour ago, and absolutely every time I do it that tingling sensation will start to become extremely tingly, almost as if insects were crawling in there. But after that OBE the whole sensation is gone and I'm left with a huge question mark above my head. I mean, that can't be random or even remotely possible? :/

Discuss on and thanks for any input.

Very interesting. I am sure it can! The subtle body is the blueprint for the physical body and the nerves are the subtlest part of the physical body. Cool! Good work!

I did have some nerve damage which unfortunately led to these sort of "fainting" episodes. I say this because I was never diagnosed properly--nurses and doctors would just go "oh, well you're kind of thin, it's probably because you didn't eat breakfast."

Thing was--this would usually happen if my neck was tilted or moved a certain way. And when I had an episode, my entire body would go into this extreme pain all over. The only reason I fainted was because the pain would become unbearble and I would be unable to stay conscious.

Anyway, long story short, I started learning tai chi and qi gong, which at the time I did not believe in (I needed PE units and figured this would be an easy class). These episodes kept happening during class, and I would discreetly try to stumble out into the hall like a dying cat. Eventually the master called me and started describing symtoms. He said he thought I had a pinched nerve in my neck (btw, teaching was a side job to physical therapy), and recommended that I keep doing the very exercize that kept setting it off. At first I thought he was crazy and I wanted to quit...but after a while, it happened less and less...and it has never happened again since.

Now, my tai chi master would credit the tai chi and the energywork involved, which could be true. Either way, I can say that it improved my health even though I didn't believe it would. Pretty amazing.
