      Higher self question

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I'm wondering if it's possible to have god appear as a person in a lucid dream, and to talk to it and gain knowledge that is true and valid.

The answer to that question lies in your perception of "God", I'm afraid. Think the "God" you believe in can be manifested as a person? Then yes. If not, then no. As for gaining knowledge, dreams may or may not present you with information or ideas, but far more likely will you see/hear ideas as opposed to actual valid knowledge.

My personal answer to your question, if I were using my understanding of "God" and "knowledge" is yes, you can have God appear as a person in a lucid dream. However, your actual communication with God will not present real knowledge that is true nor valid. God will simply be a dream character in your dream. However, it may be possible that God could show up as a dream guide, from which you may gain knowledge about your dreamworld.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

in the theory that god is a collective conscious/unconscious then everything in your dream is god.. the same that everything in everywhere is "god" you in and of yourselves are god.

and there is so much beauty in everything

I've wondered about this. Seeing as if God is the superconscious, and we're all connected to the superconscious.

But the problem is even if you did learn something, you might have trouble remembering it upon awakening.

There was a thread on here where one guy claims to have new knowledge upon awakening.

it doesn't quite stream right, and looks boring from the first 20 seconds

I do believe in God and I do believe we are a part of God. What happens if you ask to see/hear God in a dream? Would it be a dream character? Yes it would be a dream character, but dream characters aren't unconscious robots!

Dream characters (some at least) HOLD consciousness within them! YOURS.. That's why we can actually talk and have interesting conversations with dream characters. Basically what I am saying is, if you create a dream character of God, what you are doing is creating a vessel for some of Gods essence to communicate with you. Understand that this vessel would limit God, and is essentially a false image of God because of that limitation. Not that a waking life experience of God would be any different. We all place some sort of (false)limit on who or what God can or can not be.

I did have a dream character that I believed carry some sort of God consciousness within it. The dream character actually seemed to challenge my own perspective of it - challenging me to recognize that what I was seeing was really an illusion - challenging me to see the consciousness behind the illusion
