Paul's Doctrines warned against Spirituality, but this was because Paul was a very jealous and egotistical minister. He didn't want anybody thinking for themselves if he could do their thinking for them. Mind Control Cults were an invention of Paul's.

But you say you are a Christian. So examine what Christ had to say concerning such things. "Seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened". "Be perfect even as the Father in Heaven is perfect". When asked about marriage, Christ specified that in Heaven bodies would be Spirit, like the angels. He blew off the question as though it were unimportant. Which leaves us to conclude that Christ would have emphasized the Spiritual.

If you are worried, then simply invoke the Protection of Christ. Now don't be surprised if He send His Mother to protect you. Remember the Gospel of John where Christ's Last Words were to assign us to the Protection of His Mother, and She to us.

Go into you Dreams with Prayers. Be ready to invoke the Holy Names. Keep Religious Icons in your home. Many Protestants suppose it a sin to have Religious Images and Icons in the home, but that was a Satanic Trick to leave them all unprotected.

Seeker's post was the most simple, concise, and accurate. I'm also skeptical when it comes to OBEs, but I'm not disregarding it. Just remember that God will never leave you nor forsake you as long as you are His. He will provide for all you need.
