I haven't noticed colors having anything important to say. Maybe the yellow lights were there along with the desolate streets to in a way demonstrate that everything had been set on pause, as the yellow light is usually only shown briefly.
Weird how expectations can work or fail in a lucid dream. I was hoping to read that the kid did get blown into the wall. :P Do you find colors influence the perception of the objects in the dream? You mentioned touching the yellow lamps so I wondered if you noticed whether the color of objects in different dreams made an impact on your perception of the object's properties. For me the color blue is significant.
I drew the bird yesterday before going to bed, so I haven't had much more chance to test it out I'm amazed it showed up (or at least the paper containing it did) in the first dream I had after creating it. I hope to meet it tonight.
Interesting dream, and good method to help with lucidity. Pity it didn't work this time but I think it sounds like a great idea! Has it worked other times?

Thats IS really freaky. My sleep paralysis was weird monkeys were having sex, thenthey started killing each other. And the whole room was like shaking it looked like it and I felt it.
I saw your thread asking if you should seek psychiatric help. I think you should just change your focus, it worked great for my depression.
