Thanks for sharing this experience. I am the type of person that also tends to get a number of nightmares from time to time and maybe too often when compared to others?, but , well, everyone is different. However, I am slowly beginning to change this.

What I have learned is to try to turn things around. Always take a step back to watch yourself, and see the positive in the situation, and always remember, you are learning how to change the situation to your advantage. Let's examine the situation:

      - Even though this was a nightmare, you were lucid for a moment, this is good
      - Lots of people get nightmares, some more often than others, the important thing is how we learn to deal with them
      - Over time and with experience you will learn to be more confident, here keeping a DJ of all experiences, and remembering positive LDs where you actually could change the situation will give you confidence in the future
      - Worst case scenario: sometimes dream control can fail, and the feelings we have can be intense and scary BUT if you manage to develop some detachment over time, you will be able to observe yourself even through the moments of intense fear and patiently wait for them to be over. In the end you will be back in your real bed.

To sum it up: confidence, patience and learning from experience.
