    Exploring My Mind

My dream journal. I'll try to make things as interesting as possible, and try to recall as many dreams as I can.
Anything in orange text is just part of a non-lucid. Anything in blue text is a lucid dream. Purple text is a dream sign, or possible dream sign. If the text isn't colored, it's not a dream and it's usually just me commenting on various things.
I'm hoping to fill this journal with tons of dreams over the coming years, and ultimately, get better at lucid dreaming~

    1. Fireworks and Christmas Dinners

by , 08-23-2016 at 07:40 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Here's this morning's collection of dreams, which had a sort of holiday theme going on.
I stood in a grassy field with a friend I vaguely know in real life. It was night time, and we were waiting for fireworks. All of a sudden, multiple fireworks shot up into the sky. They were abnormally huge, and all the more beautiful because of it, filling the sky with a multitude of wonderful colors. Before I could really get out a word about how great it all looked, this friend of mine kissed me. That's all I remember here. Pretty odd my friend was involved in this manner, as I don't know her all that well!
I was swimming in a pool that looked a lot like the pool we used in P.E. class in high school. As me and a bunch of other swimmers were heading out and back to the locker room, one of them collapsed by the entrance, having a sort of seizure. A guy I know IRL, we'll call him D, who I don't like very much appeared out of no where and was suddenly giving the collapsed guy medical attention. D looked up at me and held out his hand, asking me to give him my phone. I hesitantly complied. Seems like there could be multiple ways to interpret this one. Hmmhmm hmmity hmm.
I was at a Christmas party with a good portion of my family, as well as a couple of familiar coworkers and people I didn't know or recognize at all. It was a fairly nice party, with lots of tables, food, and nice music playing. We were all standing in line at a vending machine, but when it was my turn to pop in some change and pick my drink, I couldn't for the life of me figure the thing out. Standing directly behind me was an old coworker of mine, we'll call her W, who was starting to get quite angry at how long I was taking. She eventually slapped the change out of my fumbling hands, yelling about how I needed to get a move on and let everybody else go. My cousin, who was standing behind W, told her to take it easy. I slumped my head and walked over to the nearby fridge, which had a smaller selection of drinks.
I saw one that caught my eye: Strawberry soda in a very fancy bottle. I picked it up and went back over to my cousin, who was now standing next to this girl I didn't recognize. They were both drinking bottles of beer, so when the girl saw me approach, she gave a cold look at my bottle of soda and rolled her eyes. Seems everyone just wasn't having it with me at this party! Her and my cousin sauntered away, talking about something incoherently.
In real life, I actually have never had alcohol to this day, and I don't plan on it. If I were at a party like this, that's pretty much exactly how it would go. I'm happy with the amount of detail recalled~
    2. A Gathering

by , 04-04-2015 at 01:38 AM (Exploring My Mind)
Lots of recall from this morning (or rather, last night)! Remembered two separate dreams. The first one was one I recalled upon waking up in the middle of the night, so the details didn't come back to me as clearly as they did the second one.

I went about my daily business at a new company for work. Only, this wasn't just your average job. The workplace was also a school. I frequently went with my coworker from real life, and we went about our daily grind. At some point this part is just a fragment for me I ended up playing a hyper-advanced version of a PS2. After doing some more work, it then occurred to me that somebody was behind me. Somebody with sinister intentions. They ended up holding a cloth to my mouth and wrapping their arms around me so that I couldn't escape. I had been drugged.
And with THAT really unnerving ending, that's all I can remember from the first dream. Not a whole lot, but something nonetheless.
Now for the SECOND dream, which I remembered upon waking up for good. This one was quite longer, and more vivid.
I had bought a fancy new apartment for myself, and was looking after my dog Jesse one bright morning. Jesse ended up peeing all over the place (which is what he does in real life). :canislucidus:
I tried bringing him downstairs to a safer area to pee, but my girlfriend and her mom disapproved of it, and scolded me extremely badly, almost to the point of insulting. I felt extremely bad, and for some silly reason that I assume only goes by dream logic, Stephen Hawking was nearby while they scolded me, and he was smiling a big smile and ramming into me with his wheelchair. ...make of that what you guys will.
But I digress, after they scolded me, I screamed really loudly out of frustration.
Soon after, all of us went to a concert hall, where the DJ and producer was none other than my Japanese teacher! This brought up my mood quite a bit, and we caught up for a while. He then let me take control of the stage, as a play was going on (though I don't remember what it was). I messed around with the lights, and background music, amusing myself for a while.
And finally, after THAT was done, my teacher, girlfriend, and her mom all went with me to this little girl's house for her birthday party. Oddly, I didn't recognize this girl from anybody I know IRL, yet I treated her like a little sister.
My girlfriend's uncle was at the party too, scoffing at people getting references wrong. Scarily enough, just like the ending of the last dream, this one ended with a bit of an unsettling note, as news got around about a killer on the loose while we were singing happy birthday, of all things.
    3. Suddenly...A Lucid!

by , 05-17-2014 at 05:34 PM (Exploring My Mind)
It goes mostly without saying that I haven't had a lucid dream in a while! This is primarily because of my tendency to lose motivation for periods going on months. The funny thing is, I've been in one of those periods for the past month; i.e. not recalling any dreams, and generally just having no will to do so. Then, out of complete no where, I had a lucid dream last night. It really was the most random thing. Not that I'm complaining! It's been so long since my last lucid that I forgot how good it felt.
I was in a mall with most of my mom's side of the family. My baby cousin, Presley (who is a little over 2 years old), started speaking full, sophisticated sentences and running around the mall at speeds not normal for a human being. For some reason, THIS of all things is what caused me to go lucid after a couple of years of no lucids.
Seeing Presley act like this caused me to think that this couldn't be happening. This must be a dream. The clarity hit me like a truck, and the excitement came just as fast. I stood stock still for a moment and told myself to calm down, and to help stabilize the dream, I held my hands in front of my face and examined them closely while trying to relax. It seemed to work, and the dream gained even more clarity. From this point, my mind was racing on all the different things I wanted to try and do. Rather than do something crazy though, I decided to explore the mall peacefully, seeing what I could find. I remember a vague thought crossing my mind, 'Maybe I should go to the world from my comic,' but I didn't end up doing that.
The mall was quite big, and looked very similar to the main lobby-like area of Bioshock Infinite's Burial at Sea: Episode 2, the area where the Big Daddy roams around. Luckily for me, there was no Big Daddy. ...As far as I know. I ended up finding a store where a bunch of teenagers were partying. Can't remember what exactly the store was, but the inside was flashing with neon lights, strobe lights, pretty much all the lights you can dream of. I approached the group of people...

And then that's all I remember from there. Not sure if more happened and I just don't remember, or if I woke up at that point, but I'm leaning towards me waking up. This is probably the longest lucid I've had yet, clocking in at about 3 or 4 minutes, whereas my other lucids have been anywhere from 5 seconds to 1 minute. Not only that, this is the first time I've ever stabilized the dream (which could have something to do with the longer time, now that I think about it... ). Not sure how I thought to examine my hands for further clarity, but I have read that tip before in the past, so it must have come to mind.
Definitely exciting though! A random lucid dream after two months of no recall whatsoever. Now if I could just stay motivated towards it all.
    4. Pink Crystals and Gas Masks

by , 12-01-2012 at 03:55 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Sorry I've been away for a while guys. School came back, and I'm sure you all know how that is. :L I've had a little more time lately to focus on my dream exploits, and here's my dream from last night.
I went to a party with a bunch of people I didn't seem to know. The house we were in didn't look all too familiar. Not sure if I've seen it somewhere before.
I headed over to the couches, where I noticed a group of 3 suspicious looking people performing a magic trick for a little kid. The three people were, I'd say, about 20 years old or so. I plopped down on the couch and watched the magic trick they were doing. In a small glass, the man had poured water and put something in it to create a foam like substance. He then put some ice cubes in it, and told the kid to watch carefully. Suddenly, the icecubes appeared to be a beautiful pink in color, glowing rose-like, entrancing me.
The man kept doing it, saying he was running out of time, creating more and more pink colored icecubes, till eventually, the foam in the glass cleared, and a large, rectangular shaped stone made out of pure pink crystal arose from the top of the glass. The man shouted in delight, and snatched the crystal rectangle away. He nodded to his two compatriots, and they quickly leapt up to leave. I stood up as well, suspicious. As they were leaving, one of them turned around and looked at me hard in the eyes. "HEY! GUYS! WHAT ABOUT THIS KID?" he shouted to his two companions. I panicked, thinking they were going to stop me, but they didn't. His words seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. He grunted in annoyance and followed them out of the house.
Everyone in the party suddenly disappeared. I was on my lonesome. I knew I couldn't let those people get away. They were planning to do something bad with that precious crystal stone, and I was going to stop them. I grabbed a nearby cloak and wrapped it around my body, pulling the hood up. I quickly put my shoes on, and grabbed my wooden sword, which would be my makeshift weapon for now.
I headed out, ready for danger. Suddenly, a boy yelled to me. "Hey, Tanner! Come here!" I turned to see a boy I knew from my school urging me to approach him. He was standing inside a garage-looking area. I approached, and he tugged me inside the garage and closed the door. He explained that they were trying to stop those people too, and that I would need to join them, but with a better disguise. He then gave me a gas mask to put over my face. I put it on, and realized I looked a lot like Zero from the Zero Escape series.

      ANNNND then I woke up.
Too bad, I would've liked to find out what we were going to do to stop those three.
