Right before going to bed, I watched The Hurt Locker. In my dream, I was a young boy in basic training. All I really remember is running through the halls of a building, probably for some drill thing, and arriving outside a shower area. A couple other boys were coming out, and one had two weights and a metal wire. I started helping him try to thread the wire through the weights (somehow I knew he needed my help.. maybe because his hands were full). All of a sudden, someone else starts messing with me while I'm trying to thread this wire through these weights. I can't see anything all of a sudden, and I get frustrated. Being a young boy, I start to cry and run off, through the door. Instead of walking into a locker room or bathroom, I find myself outside, on a dirt path. 20 yards ahead of me is a two-lane road, and beside the road is a fence with a shower attached to it. I walk to the shower and my heart sinks as I realize I forgot my towel. Oh well. I strip down and am about to shower when a red car pulls up, blocked by my gear in the road. I move it out of the way, and it pulls up next to me. For some reason (either I became really tall or the car was really short) I have to get on my stomach to see into the car. A lady asks me what I'm doing. I tell her that I'm in the army, and she drives away. Next thing I remember, I'm on the steps of a house with 4 other boys. They are my brothers. We come up with a brilliant plan; pass me off as adopted, and I can get out of the army. The last thing I remember before I woke up is looking at my dream brothers, and thinking, "they look nothing like me, this plan will work." I almost forgot; starting when I walk outside towards the shower, and lasting until the end of the dream, I can clearly hear the song "Lowrider" by War playing. This is interesting, especially since I encounter that red car that is so damn low...

Woke up this morning not remembering much more than a few bits and pieces from my dreams. Kind of a let down. 8.6.10 I was playing some version of a Mario Kart game.. Rather, I was in the game, and the track was intense. There was one section where I went down a tube and started spinning intensely, like a crazy water slide. Next thing I remember, I'm outside the game, playing with my cousin. Then we're in the game again, only this time it's a version of Halo. We were the covenant, attacking Earth. Our weapons sucked, and it wasn't really like Halo at all. We attacked a grocery store or something like that.. No, it was a building with elevators and lobbies, but we went in a section of the building that was like a grocery store. I remember thinking, "press Y to change weapons," then looking down at my gun and feeling a button on the shaft where Y would be on the controller. I pressed the button and my gun changed. I also remember using B to melee an enemy, but then instead of hitting B again to melee, I simply swung my gun at him. It was like I wasn't confined to the video game button system; even though using the buttons worked, I could still do whatever I wanted. That's really all I remember. Maybe video games are a dream sign.. Quite often I'm either playing a game, or in a game, in my dreams.
I woke up on the morning of August 4th, 2010 at around 9 o'clock. Head fuzzy from a crazy night, I fell back asleep almost immediately. The following is what I dreamt. 8.4.10 Working at Greystone (the pool), people were swimming and it was dark. One fat lady fell off the side of the pool and hit her neck, and I had to save her. Surf contest at UNCW, Connor participating. Spoke with Mr. and Mrs. Deal. Jumbotron with all the competitors faces on it, in a continuous video loop. Not at the beach, but at a big wave pool. Didn't see any waves. House/small hotel building. Lots of DCs around. I was telling some of them that I was lucid and that this was all a dream. I wasn't lucid, not like my first LD where I had limited control and everything was crystal clear. But this time I still knew I was dreaming. Not by any dream signs or reality checks though. I was shooting energy out of my hands at DC's, because they were after me.. They were after me because there was a strange, attractive girl that I was trying to coax into sleeping with me. I kept telling her, "this is a dream, I'm lucid dreaming!" But to no avail. Dream signs missed: random, strange, attractive girl; trying to argue my way out of/into something
08.01.2010 I was working in a coffee shop that about to open. The only people inside were my mom, a coworker, and me. I was making coffees when I noticed that my very attractive coworker was naked, and I was too. We began caressing each other when I remembered that we were not alone. Then I casually remember that strange, attractive girls are a dream sign, and that I must be in a dream, so that my mom isn’t really in the coffee shop with us. At this point I become lucid. I can’t see anything, but I can still feel the fabric of the dream around me. I kind of freak out and lose lucidity. I had it for maybe two seconds. Next dream: I was on the side of a lake, watching boats race. The boats looked like old muscle cars. I decide to walk elsewhere, and I run into Aaron Wilson. I tell him the same story I told him earlier this evening, the one about Mrs. Grimes telling me of Caroline and Chris, when I saw him at Catie’s show. For some reason I decide to look at my watch, and I notice instantly that it is constantly changing. I realize with much excitement that I am still dreaming. I calmly picture my body in bed, and then become enveloped with the dream. This time, everything is crystal clear. I see Aaron as if he really there with me, and I immediately began talking to him. I ask him if he’s had dinner, and we begin walking down a path that appears to just loop around to where it began. The sky looks different, but very vivid. As I take in everything around me, I lose some lucidity. Then Patrick Ellison comes up with a couple other people asking me how to get somewhere or something. At this point I am once again drawn to the strangeness of the dream, but as I become lucid again I start to slip away from the dream, and the next thing I know I am awake in bed. Note: At the end of my last dream, I awoke to my alarm. It didn’t feel like the alarm woke me, because I woke straight from the lucid dream. It literally felt like teleporting because I was THERE, in the dream, one second, and the next second I was in my bed, with the music (alarm) playing. Also, I probably lost some lucidity because I had no intent within the dream. I simply wanted to talk to someone and walk around, looking at everything. Next time, I need to be more focused, and my lucidity should remain more constant. Another note: In addition to not having intent within the dream, I didn’t have a whole lot of control either. I still felt like I was kind of “along for the ride” in the dream, although I was able to control where I walked and looked. The fact that I asked Aaron if he had dinner obviously shows that I wasn’t in complete control (I would rather have been like DUDE IM IN A LUCID DREAM).
