A little girl who was a healer...

I think it may be important to know if you're about read the following description of my dream that I'm an adult woman and don't have any children. In my dream I knew a little girl (maybe 5 or 6) who could heal people with her energy. I was standing in what seemed like a courtyard outside of her school, waiting to pick her up, and I was thrilled that I would get to see her; my mother was there, sitting on a bench nearby, and I was telling her I was so excited for her to meet this little girl. Soon kids came spilling out of the doors, and finally she walked out behind the other kids, and I picked her up and was swinging her around in the air. I remember she was wearing a hoody that was almost obscuring her face. While I was swinging her, she seemed to shrink in size, until she was doll sized, and she looked sad. I sensed that she had tried to heal somebody and failed. I stopped and said, "What's the matter, honey? Why do you look so sad?" and she said, "I just can't do anything right anymore." With that, she was letting go of her own life energy, and she slumped in my hands, dead. I was so overcome with fear and despair I tried to cry for help with all of my might, but all that would come out was a wheezy gasp. I looked at my mother, and she was asleep. I kept trying to yell and finally I did - really - and woke myself up yelling (scared my poor dog half to death!) and with a crushing feeling of loss. I have my own ideas about the meaning, but would welcome some different ones for consideration.

Wow, that sounds like a very intense experience. I'm curious to know your take on it. What did you get out of the experience? How did you interpret it? What you think it was about really is the most important thing.

First - thanks for checking this out and responding. Yeah, I don't mean to sound dramatic, but even when I tried to describe this dream to a friend of mine, it took everything I had to contain the sob welling up in my throat! Weird. Anyway, I took this to be an expression of the feeling or idea that I've lost, or I'm losing, a pure and powerful part of myself while my poor tired Mom-self sleeps. A pretty clear and jarring wake up call. But - there was a feeling, or vibe, that felt, I guess, ancient, or collective, or archetypal (? does that make sense?); like it was bigger than me but I can't nail that feeling down any more than that. So I'm really interested to hear any other ideas about it.

It does make sense, I've had feelings like that in my dreams. It's pretty impossible to describe things like that in words.
