    Bad Birthday

    by , 03-30-2013 at 11:12 AM (592 Views)
Okay so 30/3/13 (at Dad's, sleeping on an uncomfortable sofa, not listening to music)

I was in a strange living room watching Pulp Fiction on a cream coloured 1960's tv when an advert came on about KFC offering free Krushems (Milk shakes) with a meal deal. I thought to myself that I should message my friend Safiyyah because I know she loves them.

Then my dream changed, I was in a bedroom - presumably mine, and it was my birthday (15th April) but no one was celebrating it with me. I asked my step dad if I could go see my friend Charlie but he said "If you want to go, she needs to ring!". I was quite upset by this and I felt very lonely.

My dream recall has improve rather rapidly and is getting better every day

Amazing the elements that fall into dreams. Old TV's, KFC...neat.

Keep up writing these dreams down. It really helps improve recall and increases chances of lucidity!

I hope your birthday is great! :)

We have some guides and threads on the forum to help improve recall if you're interested. They might help.

The best suggestion to improve recall is a two-fold one that comes to mind:

1-Upon waking, if possible, stay in bed with your eyes closed and try to recall the dream scenes. Don't actively think about it...let it happen.
2-Write down every little detail you can remember. The more concentration you give to writing down the details (once you remember them) the more likely it is that you can master recall.

Two weeks is a good start period!

I have looked at one of the articles, recall looks much harder than I predicted!
I have started to do your first suggestion and it has helped alot, the only thing I was wondering is, if I record my voice instead of writing everything down will it have the same effect?

Recording your voice can be just as good. Some people like it better even. What's important is to find what works for you. :)
