    My First FILD

    by , 07-06-2012 at 06:02 PM (559 Views)
Last night, I was successful in having my first FILD (finger induced lucid dream). After doing the finger movements, I plugged my nose to reality check, and I could breath!

Everything was dark at first, but I remained calm, and a beautiful scene materialized around me. The scene formed a long, bleach white path way, with symmetrical white streetlights on each side. My brother was also there from the start. I told him I was lucid, and he did not seem to realize he was a dream character. We started walking down the path, and I saw a shiny, box shaped white house on the left of the path. I told him, "Hold on, I'll be back in five minutes." He voiced his disapproval, but nonetheless, I opened the door into the house. The hallway, like the rest of the dream scene, was very glossy and white. To my left was yet another door, and I opened it and walked through. It looked to be a bedroom from the short glance that I got at it. As soon as I entered, the dream destabilized. I felt overwhelming frustration with myself at this point, knowing this is how my lucids typically end, yet not having done anything supernatural within the dream yet. Next thing I knew, I was awake.

First that is DILD (which means that inside the dream you realized you were dreaming no matter how you did that). Second , that is a nice first lucid dream! On my first LD I was just walking around the house and I didn't see anything too special (except the costumes my sister and cousin were wearing which were pretty unusual O.o). Next time when such a thing happens try to spin around ,even if you don't have a body in order to spin . This stabilization technique saved me many times when my LDs were fading in a similar way to what happened to you .

Thank you for the feedback! This was actually my 5th lucid dream, and I am kicking myself now for not using the spinning technique you mentioned! The only time I've used it was in my longest lucid dream, it worked wonders. The problem is, I often get caught up in the lifelike and amazing scenery, and either forget to spin or simply don't want to risk a scene change. I will definitely use the spinning technique next time though!
