So I had an afternoon nap earlier that day. But then I was laying in bed with the gf, eventually I fell asleep. Since I had already had sleep not long before, I went straight to REM sleep, and i was dreaming. I remember being really tired in my dream.

I was walking up the stairs in my flat. I was trudging along going so slow up the stairs, with my head lolling to the side like some drunk guy really wanting a place to crash on. I didn't even get to the bend in the stairs when I fell down on the stairs and went to sleep. Here is the interesting bit. As soon as I fell down and lay down (yes, on the stairs) I went into a DILD. Because I was sleepy in my dream, as soon as I fell down to sleep, my dream self went into a dream (yes, we're getting into Inception stuff here, a dream within a dream). And I knew that I was dreaming because I was following what was going on in the walking up stairs dream. So bang, I realised I was dreaming and LD.

I was in bed, like I had just opened my eyes, but not as clear. Although I wasn't in my gf's bed, I was in my bed, in my flat, but some furniture had changed. I was to happy to be lucid dreaming. First, to try clear some things up, I rubbed my hands together, and it had medium amount of success. Suddenly, however, I was at a complete loss as to what I should do. I never really thought this far, yeah I want to battle dragons and explore fantasy worlds, but right now, I was cozy in bed, with a whole lot of things that could scare me "out there", so I decided just to lay there. I decided to pray to God, and thank him for allowing me to lucid dream, because this has been a long time coming. Then I decided to get up, and when I tried to get out of bed by moving my body, my physical body was moved and i broke from the dream to be back in RL.

But I am happy, and I look forward to building on this progress.
