    Strange Dreams Indeed, Petticoat

    Tiger, Tiger

I was in the old grocery store from my hometown with my brother, whom I had not seen since I was 18. He's been away for a long time, but he was there in the dream with me. We were buying a few things to go home and make a meal. I could see the isles very clearly and the items on the shelves. I can remember the cute little blonde working the register as we got ready to leave. I went ahead to the car. While I was in the parking lot, a starving white tiger snarled and came out from behind one of the parked vehicles, a white van.

I knew the tiger was hungry and looking for its next meal and found me. I backed away, putting a few of the vehicles between it and I, to where it couldn't see me. I wasn't stupid, I knew it could hear and smell me, but I knew it was important that it not see me getting away as I edged nearer the building.

The tiger rounded the corner and growled. As it began to circle me, I turned with it, keeping my back away. I made a lot of noise and acted bigger than it was, thinking maybe it would work like with bears. I knew it was too hungry to care, but I had to try something to keep what was sure to come from happening. But no, the tiger stood on its hind legs and swatted at me and I kicked it. So help me, I was fighting a friggin' tiger. Nobody was trying to help me, everyone was tucked away safe, except me. I remember thinking that very clearly. Followed by some not so nice thoughts about all those people, who were standing there recording it on their phones. I don't even think anyone called for help.

Anyway, there I was fighting this tiger. Yes, FIGHTING! A tiger! I remember thinking of all the stupid things I've done in a dream, this is the most exciting. It gave me strength. It kept me going. The tiger clawed up my leg pretty bad and decided to pounce. As it was airborne, I dropped to my back and pulled both my legs up ready to kick it. Time slowed. And I nailed it. Knocked the wind right out of the poor thing and me too. Even emaciated, it was huge, but I remember thinking the paws were too small.

I was able to think logically within the dream, but certain aspects of the dream were totally unrealistic, like being in the same old grocery store that had closed down, a white tiger in small town Tx, and me winning a fight with a hungry tiger.
