    Lucid, Expectation Training, Long Dream

I am a new initiate in the mages guild of oblivion. I am in a dimly lit guild hall, there are alchemy ingredients everywhere. I walk up some stairs, slowly gaining awareness unconsciously. I talk with someone briefly about a book they have in front of them. Everyone disappears. I am not suprised, I look at the book, it has a candle protruding out of it, and is slowly turning into a candle completely. I raise my hand tword the candle, I can see a reflection in the copper colored wax. I am amused at the ever changing distortions of the reflection.

"You are Dreaming" I hear, from no particular source. My mind races to process this information, I realize it to be true, in a matter-of-fact way. I walk down the stairs, thinking about what to do, "Practice Dream control, Control your expectations." I hear again. I turn towards the front door, expecting to see someone rising up from an elevator. Serverous Snape ascends from the elevator, I have a few words with him and the elevator goes back down. I figure out what to do. I get in the elevator and expect to go to Oz. The elevator closes and descends. While in the elevator, I examine my expectations and realize I'm expecting it to be a terrible and nasty place, I try to change what I'm expecting, but only succeed in getting myself confused. the only thing I'm sure about by the time the elevator stops is that I'm going to oz.

The elevator doors open and I am greeted with some cheery music outside. I see the yellow brick road extending into the distance, and the immediate area is covered with green healthy grass. Unfortunately, the non-immediate area is covered with purple diseased ground and red giant mushrooms about half as tall as me. Lightning crashes in the background, making the cheery music almost comical in a way. I smile at the absurdity of the scene and start walking down the yellow brick road.

Just before I make it to the purple ground, I get a text message. I check it, and it's from, "Adventurer" I don't know who that would be. The message says something like, "where are you" or "what are you doing" I start to type a reply, but realize this person is probably nearby. I shout out in reply, "I'm in Oz, Where are you?" I spot them, A man and a child, both wearing cardboard armor with duck-tape on it to make it look like metal, both standing on a mushroom. I jump up to a mushroom next to theirs, intending to talk with them, but I see three monsters looking at me from a wall a good distance away. two about as tall as me knee, and one as tall as I am that has six arms.

I jump over to confront them, a small one charges, I reach behind my back for a swrod... and grab at air (Doh!) well it's too late to think of a new strategy I figure, so I continue and say, "My sword is invisible!" and skewer the creature with energy hardened into a point, this is fairly draining to me, but It's not dead yet, I lift it, and sling it with my "sword" at a nearby wall. It crumples into a heap.

The second one is raring to go, but I need some time to think of a plan, so I bluff a bit. I say, "you're going to die if you face me, just like the other one." this causes it to become a bit afraid, the bigger one pokes it's head and says, "if you don't go, I'LL kill you." I figure out what to do. I grab my right arm in my left hand and drop my stance. I start charging energy in my right forearm. I begin hearing the megaman X charge sound. The larger one starts charging at me I hear the level 2 charge sound, aim, BOOM! the invisible shot goes off... invisible because I just shot a blast of air that passes right through it.

He grabs me and puts me in a suplex. we turn into a wheel and I get pinned. I wake up in the passanger seat of a car (FA) I look around, my phone says 8:58, I grab my dream journal, start writing down the dream, and then wake up for real.

      Oh that's just awesome ^.^

It sucks journaling in dreams just to wake up afterward. The only good thing about it is that it allows you to consolidate your thoughts before you actually wake up... possibly assisting in recall.

Thanks Kaomea, was there something in particular that stands out to you about that sentence? I just thought it was something odd.

In this particular dream I had just gotten my thoughts in order and was just writing the first sentence when I woke up, but I've had dreams where I write half of the dream down, only to realize I'm still dreaming when I wake up... actually, it seems like I always have a false awakening after an epic dream, gonna have to start doing reality checks when I wake up I guess.

Well sure. I mean getting texts in dreams are fun when you can read them.. and then you actually saw the sender as 'Adventurer'... which is awesome because it's not a real name, LOL. The real kicker for me was when you said you didn't know who that would be. It's pretty funny when I see it unraveling in my head like a story.

      Sounds like an excellent idea
