Discovered the World is Actually Flat

My position in the dream was somewhat unclear in the beginning. There were two archaeologists as the primary characters (primary for the beginning, at least) and they both seemed like extensions of myself (more so than usual dream projections) and I was overlooking them from a sort of omnipresent/third person point of view. They were digging into a plot of dry earth (think hard sand/clay) and one of the digging tools they were using was this long Indiana Jones-esque whip, but this whip was electric and had a hook at the end of it. One of them would strike the whip and hook it into the ground, and it would electrocute the ground so it would break apart, and then they would pull the ground up by pulling back on the whip. After witnessing this I unnoticingly became the two archeologists, but as one archeologist. I peered into the hole in the ground I (or they, or we) just created and all I saw was a great void, which lead me to the conclusion that the world is flat. However, I looked again and say a mirror image of what was around me being symmetrically replicated on the other side, which lead me to the conclusion that the world if flat, but double layered with two parallel universes. The location all of the sudden became the guest room/office of my house, and I went to get my mom (who was in the same room, but I had to leave to get her?) so I could show her my discovery, but when I 'returned' with her, the ground was now wood flooring that has been indented inwards where the hole was. I told her that she could get back to what she was doing as I dug the whole back up. I began ripping the wood up and had to move around lumber and cinder blocks, but everything was already loosened up, and to this I rationalized that it was all loose from the initial dig, and then I woke up.
