    Huge fail..

    10-12 --- 11-12
Last night was the biggest fail ever:

I had planned to do a WBTB, so i woke up at 5 (6h after i fell asleep). When i woke up, i didn't recall anything at all from my dream. After some thinking i did some sudoku's a few RC's and thought a lot about LDing (been awake for 30min).
When i woke up at 8 (or so). I noticed that i hadn't had a LD and neither remembered anything of my dream.
I thought 'meh, maybe i should try WILD (first time )'. I did feel the need to scratch, and i did hear a gunshot and some screaming. But nothing more. it felt like i had been awake the full 30min, cuz i could just move my legs and such. Even though, when i looked at my alarm again, it suddenly was 30min later!

    Conclusion:
No recall because: didn't recall the day b4 i went to sleep, didn't use a mantra, wasn't awake enough during WBTB, not enough RC's, not enough thinking and probably not enough maths. Huge fail

Ah too bad you didn't succeed in doing a WILD! That technique is the hardest one to learn, and you have to try and try and try to get it right. One day you will

8 hours of sleep though might be a bit too much for you to try WILD. Unless you can fall asleep very easily. How many hours a night do you usually get when working/at school?

The length of the WBTB is individual. Same there as with the WILD, you have to try and try until you get it right. Also doing different stuff might work. I never do any sudoku or math problems. I only eat some breakfast while thinking about how awesome it's going to be when I turn lucid when I go back to sleep. Also I do some mantras just before.

      Good luck in the future!

      Wow some1's actually reading this

Uhm, i usually get like... 8h of sleep when i gotta go to school (sometimes less).
Oh and i can't really go get some breakfast, i'd wake up my parents and they wouldn't like that

Haha ofcourse someone is reading Most people usually only reads the Lucid part of the DJ's though.

You don't have to eat anything. I have to because of my weird stomach Anyways.

When you usually sleeps 8 hours. The body gets used to this, and starts activating the logical part of the brain after 8 hours. To be able to get more dreams, you have to sleep longer than you usually do. Try doing a REM-rebound. By sleeping 5 hours one day, then alot more the next. This is how I get so many dreams on Fridays.

If your body is used to sleeping 6-7 hours, then suddenly you sleep 11. You'll have way more dreams, and even a higher chance of becoming lucid.

REM-rebound? or is that the lacking sleep and then suddenly sleep a lot?
    5. Matte87's Avatar
If you only sleep 5 hours, you don't get enough REM sleep. The body makes up for this the next day when you sleep more. So yes, exactly what you said

And you do this in the middle of the week?
Not sure if that would be a gd idea for me though, i'm afraid i kinda need 2 be awake when i'm at school.
      And 5h, not that much

It happens. I don't do this voluntarily anymore really. Some nights I only get 6 hours of sleep. I usually don't get enough at all, so when Friday comes. I'm basicly already sleep deprived. Hard work takes its toll.

You should try it sometime though! Doing a WILD might become alot easier when you haven't slept more than 5 hours the day before, and you wake up 6 hours after going to sleep. The dreamrecall gets alot better aswell.

What about DILD with WBTB technique? Does a decrease of your sleep also enhance the change of an LD?

Well yeah, when you don't get up at 5, the logical part of your brain starts activating, as it's used to getting up then. Doing a WBTB after a few nights of bad sleep, takes alot of willpower. I don't think it's necessary to do a REM-rebound the same time as you do a WBTB. If you want to talk more live, I'm on chat all day long just click the chat button and sign in. Cheers!
