Yungen

I am walking round a courtyard with one of my old best friends (in reality she's been off for a long time and isn't due back for a few weeks) and trying to break the ice. I say to her (here comes the annoying part...) "Have you ever heard of lucid dreaming?" and she says "No." I say "I think you'd like it."
"Oh really? How can you be so sure?"
"Just trust me. Try it tonight. It happens when you're conscious in your dreams. You can be anyone and do anything you like."
We go off to a writing club. The person who runs it looks like the joker and has mascara smudged around her eyes from crying.

The dream ends there and I wake up and curse myself for missing such an obvious sign.
