      Second LD

Last night was my third attempt at LDing with WBTB which lead to my second LD. Except unlike my first LD, I couldn't control this one. I think it was because my attention was slipping back and forth between my dream body and my real body, so I couldn't concentrate. It kinda felt like I wasn't fully absorbed into the dream. How can I prevent this from happening next time? Also, I had a dream before I woke up for WBTB in witch I realized that I was dreaming, but I didn't become lucid, how does that work?

If you're slipping back and forth, try /not moving at all in the lucid dream and just focus on your surroundings to take everything in. Don't ever think about your real body sleeping, or else you'll wake up.

Being lucid means being aware that you're dreaming. So technically if you knew you were dreaming but had no control, then you were lucid

I thought being lucid meant I was conscious? I had the thought "Oh, I must be dreaming" but it did not lead to consciousness.

Sometimes people dream about lucid dreaming, i've had several dreams where i actually said "im lucid dreaming" or "i must be dreaming", but i never truly acknowledged the fact that i AM dreaming. Saying that you're dreaming and realizing that you're dreaming are two completely different things, so i would assume that you were just dreaming about it rather than actually being lucid.

This. Two nights ago i had a dream within a dream, and in the second dream i realised i was dreaming but never did anything about it. Last night I had my first actual lucid dream and the difference is undeniable.
