      Lucid Control problems

this morning i decided not to go to school, like last week i didnt go to school and could remember my dream. this time i was on like the 10th floor of this huge apartement with these 2 girls, we were just jackin around. then i left. when i got outside i looked back at the apartment and it was a 2 story house. Then i realized i was dreaming, I looked at my watch(i dont own a watch) and it was out of wack (108:24, 18:32), then for a third RC i looked at the sky, it turned from blue to purple quiet fast. so i immidiately jump, it wasnt abnormally high. I tried again but with the intention of flying and it worked i flew a round for a while, then i lost control. on the ground again i tried flying again but it woulnt work.then i saw this kid throw a football at something and it triggered a bolt of lighting which struck the ball that flew back and hit the kid. then he threw it at me, but i just let it go through me. then i woke up.
I think in your dreams the only way you can fly is if you truly beleive you can fly, if not anybody know my control problem>?

You are exactly right. It is ALL about belief. Luckily, belief is a kind of positive feedback thing. The more often you exercise control, the more control you will have to exercise. Sound's kind of Zen like, eh?

Just keep practicing control, but realize that sometimes your subconsious has some things it wants to show you and will fight you for control of some things.

Yeah Control with me is kinda wierd, like in my last lucid i had last night, i could lift a bike in the air with my mind, but when i tried lifting a piece of paper, it wouldn't even move the slightest bit...

The best thing you can do is just practice and practice...

Seeker got it. It's all about belief. Sometimes wishing for it helps or so I've heard. Also, I dont know about you, but I find that if I do things in a calmly manner, then I have more control.

The other night I had a lucid dream where a dream character told me that I should stop lucid dreaming. He told me "this is our time, and your always just doing your own thing!" This really upset me and I ran away from him almost crying. I tried to fly away, but my confidence was extremely low and I was panicking. Instead of going up, I shrank down right into the grass !

      Hey guys,

I used to have quite a few LDs when I was younger. I'm still only 16, but when I was between 5-10 they were quite frequent. Since then, however, I have had next to none. Anyway, one of them has always stuck with me.

I was running through a forrest, along dirt trails, with someone who felt close to me and I suddenly realized I was dreaming. For some reason it was really important to tell him, and so I did. He said it was alright, and then I told him I'd be back (though I never have been). Shortly after I was shot out of a cannon (I experienced no fear), and awoke as I hit the ground. Though there was a period of darkness before I regained full consciousness.

I also used to fly a lot in dreams. One time I was being chased through the jungle by a cheetah (I was dressed in monk clothing) and decided to jump, knowing that I would almost fly, as if it was something I had come to expect. Anyway, I flew up to a high point and remained there until I awoke.

I'd love to do that stuff again, which is why I hope to practice LD.

I'm new to LDing but an old flyer. I think you can want to do something too much. Just think about floating at first. First calm down make sure your lucidly is stable with whatever method you use like looking at the ground etc. Then just feel yourself starting to float. You can turn the floating onto more direct flights afterwards. There are many ways to fly. After you start floating you could think about a blast of rocket power shooting from the bottom of you feet and take of like a rocket. The excitement may wake you up if you get to excited. I usually start floating and then just think about where I want to go and turn it into superman style. I want to try something that Leo suggested next time I think about it. Just levitating a few inches off the ground and scoot around like on a conveyer Belt. The Jetson’s style.
