      Control issues

Last night, I had my most vivid LD. It lasted very long and it looked equivalent to RL.

However, I seem to have terrible control. I failed in both my attempts to fly and teleport. When a very loud DC told me to "prove that this was a dream" I couldn't even manipulate a piece of fruit...

If anybody here could give me some advice, it would be appreciated

The only thing about dream control is expectancy. Just expect the piece of fruit to be in your hands, or if you turn around, expect it to be on the floor, or on the table. Just stimulate your senses however, e.g. imagien the feel of the fruit in your hands, how the texture feels, and expect when you look at your hand, the fruit will be there.

      Good luck!

I concur with forceez. The issue people usually have with expectations is one of confidence. You say the DC was "very loud" before you tried to manipulate the fruit - you might have been intimidated by that a bit and got distracted or nervous, decreasing your confidence and giving the dream more control over the environment than your conscious mind. you need to reassert control in those instances by concentrating and proceeding slowly and calmly, knowing that YOU are in charge. Your degree of lucidity matters a great deal too - doing what forceez suggested with the fruit increases your lucidity and sense of control.

As for flying/teleporting - I suggest taking it more slowly. I know that is very difficult to do when you are lucid - you don't want to "waste" your hard-earned lucidity by going slowly - but you are more likely to succeed by taking baby steps. With flying, try to increase your confidence by imagining a strong wind carrying you up, or make swimming motions with your arms to make the air feel "thicker" and then you can swim upward. Fly close to the ground at first so you don't panic - adrenaline for newbie flyers is a BAD thing that will make you wake up. Teleporting really depends on your preferred method - I cannot just teleport because my brain doesn't like it lol. So what I do is "wipe" my current scene away, literally using my hands - while thinking of another place I want to be, and it fills the landscape where I've wiped.

Don't know if any of this will help you - the more dreaming you do the better you will get, for sure!
