Re-entering a lucid dream after waking

The other night I was having a particularly good lucid dream when I was awoken by a loud noise outside. I closed my eyes with the full intention of falling back asleep and going right back to where my dream left off, and it worked! I am really excited. I have done it once more since then (I usually have a few lucid dreams each night). Has anyone else has had a similar experience?

(Also, I know for certain that I really did wake up. I have an alarm clock that projects the time on my ceiling. I can check the time without changing positions or moving at all. If I check it twice and it shows the same time, I know I am awake, because digital clocks always turn into letters or symbols in my dreams. It's one of my many "reality checks" that I constantly do throughout the day, waking or sleeping.)

Not sure if you were lucid, if you were it was a DEILD, if it wasn't, the intent to re enter would have done it.
Haha I like the projection clock, so you don't have to move.
      Happy Dreams

      Sorry, what's DEILD?

And yes, the projection clock is fantastic. Once I change positions after I wake up, falling asleep immediately is much harder. It's nice to do a reality check without moving.

Ah, nevermind, I found the section on DEILD. I had not thought about different types of lucid dreams before. I am sure it was a lucid dream that I woke from, because it was a very strong lucid dream and I had more control over my actions than ever before. I accomplished some of my "world building" goals and I was really excited about it. I created a city in a previous lucid dream, but I had only seen it from a distance. In this dream, it was still there (all world-building I have done seems pretty permanent and locked in a specific location), but I actually flew into the city and talked with some of the people who lived there. When I woke up, I wanted to go back, and I fell right back asleep and picked up where I left off.

That's awesome that you naturally discovered it, cool dreams too, good luck in the future .
