And then my method was made :)

Alright, Santa was suppose to post this but... w/e lol... here's a method I made that can really help a lot... apparently Santa was having trouble with saying verbal things like "Clarity Now!" so I told him to do what I did on the time I got my first LD which I managed to control. First of all like always you need to know the number one thing:

This is your dream... it's your world... you can do anything you want...

think about it as writing a story... you can do anything you want... basically you say "And then" and whatever you want to do. See how this makes it sort of like a story? "And then the little red riding hood was eaten by the wolf"(best part of the story... lol)... just think like that and use this... here are a few examples:

"And then I grew wings" then you'll grow wings if you do it right
"And then [insert item here] started to fall from the sky" the item stated starts falling from the sky
"And then I suddenly appeared in [insert place here]" all of the sudden you appear in the place stated(don't know how that would look... but probably works)
"And then daylight appeared"then the sun comes up and daylight appears
"And then a beast comes out of the darkness and kills me" you should know what happens... lol(apparently santa had said that and a beast appeared to kill him but he used daylight to kill it)
"And then I had Ice Powers" you get ice powers... and depending on how you think of them... when I got them any thing I punched froze(literally of course... lol)

and obviously a tons more. I guess this method works because by saying "And then" it does make you sort of feel like you're creating a story or your dream basically, giving you more confidence and therefore the better the chance for whatever you want to happen happen. So instead of clarity now you could try "And then it got more clear" or w/e lol... yeah so that's my method of dream control... mainly for those of you who can't use words to control your dreams

Hmm. ...not a bad idea, Crash. Simple, yet quite possibly effective. Well done.

Great tip! As a child, I used to verify if I was dreaming by using the words "I want". To this day "I want ice cream" still does the trick.

yes it works perfectly (no lie) I was able to control the sun and moon with this method (not bad for someone who couldn’t lift a table with psy powers in the dream before)

anyway yeah, this technique has helped me to prolong my dreams, to gain higher lucidity, and to make dream characters.

      ty for this technique

I figure this technique would be really cool if I get it to work for me, but my problem is remembering to do it. When I'm in my next lucid dream, I doubt I'm going to remember this method. The first thing I do whenever I get lucid is float off the ground and start flying somewhere, and then I usually end up crashing and ending the dream. Does anyone have any tips for remembering to do this method when I'm in an LD?

sounds very boring to do it like a story.. but well if it works for some people im fine with it... My personal method is to move my hands like im casting a spell, it makes me feel very powerful.

What about once a day or more practicing what it is you would like to do in your dream? I am able to control the dream by just doing it because I spent my whole childhood daydreaming so it is just natural. If you write a senario, read it or talk it on a tape, practice saying 'and then'.

I posted once that I had some level of success inducing dreams by listening to my voice telling the dream story on tape and just tonight I read a post or two in other threads that show others have done sort of the same thing.

This practice might work for you.

Sounds interesting. If it works, then good one
Personally, verbal commands have a reasonable impact for me, but I'll try this out.
I like the verbal commands because it often causes some amazing special effects for me (eg growing crackling forcefield of 'stabilising')

Yeah, I guess I just have to think about dreaming a lot more during the day. I just have to be more concious about things, but it's hard. I'm so used to using my days to not think about anything...

I have a question about the method. If you're trying to get yourself to do something you normally couldn't in a dream, would you say, "And then I jumped over the skyscraper", or would you have to do it yourself? Or would you say, "And then I got the ability to jump over skyscrapers", and then try it?

That reminds me, when I was in my dream, I knew it was a dream yet I was scared to show tricks to people.

it's basically more of how you think about it. For example, in my situation whenever I say "And then I jumped over the skyscraper" I think about that as just jumping over 1 skyscraper, and when I say "And then I got the ability to jump over skyscrapers" I would get the ability to jump over skyscrapers... so in my mind I prefer the second one so I'd choose that. As for whether you have to do it yourself or not... once again it's how you think about it... if you think about it as the dream automatically doing it for you... then I'm pretty sure most probably you would automatically jump over the skyscraper... but if you think about it as you having to try it then you'd have to try it... basically because that's how you think about it. In my head, it's a lot harder for the dream doing it automatically by saying that so... for me... I would probably have to try it... unless I said "And then the dream made me jump over the skyscraper"... but that's just my opinion... so yeah... it's how you think about it.

yeah its not like you automatically do it, you just say something like "and then (put your name here) gained the ability to move mountains with the twist of his/her hand!"

then you will find that its easier now that youv said that you can and its set into your mind
