I fail at dream controlll ;( need help

ever since i started lucid dreaming Ive been having more nightmares (probably because ive been thinking about them more) When i went to bed last night i had one I was already lucid but wanted to find out what the dream would do next so i was just stood in my garden bouncing up and down with low gravity, Then all of a sudden my freinds dad (who i have not seen for 1year,he was taller and paler in the dream) Marched down my garden and grabbed my wrist he took me in the house and tried to take me upstairs I asked 'what are you doing?' he said 'you've been bad your going to your room' i felt like i was 6 ...so i thought this is going to ruin my dream you know what 'this is.......'I started coughing uncontrollable and the man said 'this is a lucid dream? I know' then grabbed my wrist real tight and i woke up.

Propper annoyed and confused why i couldn't turn that bad dream into a normal lucid one :/ any tips?

Ah, I hate when these things happen. In your position, I don't think there's much you can do. I find that when something scary or weird triggers our attention, it's hard to reclaim it. It seems like you were experiencing Level 3 lucidity and you knew you were dreaming, but didn't act on it. In hindsight, the only thing that I know of that you conceivably could have done would be to stabilize until you had some means of control over the dream, but if you were in a point of low lucidity, that would be hard as hell.

If you can't confront your nightmares and get some answers out of them, you can try teleporting into a different dream scene. Maybe walk through a wall and imagine coming out in a different place. Or go through a door, or create your own portal. You can try to make him vanish by blinking or closing your eyes, or you can do some magicky stuff like wave your hand. I know running away won't really solve the problem, but you can try it another time when you have better control :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
