In your dream- become lucid then go to a door. Imagine them standing behind the door and then open it. Or imagine them standing behidn you then turn around.

Call for them. Scream, if that doesn't work. Call for them KNOWING they will come, not like you're looking for them.

Ring them with a phone. (What else?)

i have a pretty bad problem with that too. ive had a few LD's where i try to find someone but it hasnt been working.

last night i had one and kept looking, i tried stuff like turning around thinking that they'll be there and turning the corner expecting them there, but it didnt work. but then i asked someone where i can find them and they told me at this persons house on a beach. so i started flying towards that direction; then i was really close and was running up these stairs to reach the beach but then there were a bunch of black kids starting to walk towards me and soon i was surrounded and i couldnt fly anymore, then i woke up.

i dont know why i cant find that person; im thinking to ask a dream guide in my next ld because i dont really know what to do. maybe i can try other techniques. [(edit): like calling them on the phone, i forgot about that]
      any help?

All those suggestions are good, but I find that it helps to 'practice' in real life, almost like a reality check. Go up to a door, and expect whoever you are looking to be behind it, and I mean really expect them to be there. Then when you are in the dream try the same thing and it should work.

There was one time when I wanted to meet someone in my dream, so I wrote a note to myself that said something like

      "Dear Jenny,

[name] is coming over for dinner tonight,

      Love Mom"

And whaddaya know, they showed up shortly after.

I have the same problem, I'm trying to find people in my dreams but they never appear when I want them to.

I tried turning around (expecting them to be there) to make someone appear and instead some little girl appeared (no clue who it was). Then I did it again and the girl disappeared and the person I was looking for was kind of there but not completely (it was like I was imagining them, they weren't completely real and I could barely see them, only feel like they were there). I want them to appear like the other people in my dream, realisticly enough so that I can talk to them at least.

The next lucid dream I have i'll try calling them or something (what if I don't know their number? do I just pick up the phone expecting them to be there?). I might try just yelling out their name. I'm only new to lucid dreams so I don't have heaps of experience in dream control (my lucid dreams have been pretty uninteresting so far because i haven't been able to really control what is happening and make people appear)

These are all good suggestions. I'm going to try them in my next lucid dream. The furthest I can get is talking to them on the phone. Of course I've only had 2 lucid dreams, so I haven't had much practice.

Do you know where they live? If so, just go over to their house. That works 90% of the time for me.

      OK...good concept, but with fallacy.

First, your conscious dramatically effects the unconscious. Therefore, whereever he thinks this person is could be effected by where he might believe them to be...and the unconscious could use the conscious inferences as to the location of this person.

It may take a little dedication to not consciously make judgments about where this person is at...perhaps revoking emotions, because emotions can inhibit strange communication between the conscious and unconscious.

      hope i helped; peace.

Lowercase! When did you get back?

Good to see you around again! 'Course, last time you saw me, I was still a n00b....

EDIT: Alright, alright. To avoid being TOTALLY off-topic, here's my take on it:

There's a few well-established means of summoning somebody/something. Two of those are what just got brought up, the door and turning around. The problem with them is that, like Lowercase mentioned, you have to really BELIEVE they'll be there when you turn around. Dreams are based on two things that you have some control over: Desires and fears. You obviously have more control over the desires, but the problem enters when you begin to fear that it won't work, or when logic tries to intervene and tell you that they/it can't possibly be there. It may take some work to build up enough confidence, and in effect learn to shut out part of your conscious self, before you can learn to summon.
All in all, the best thing to do is to just know that the person you want to see will be there when you turn around. If you really KNOW that they'll be there, it will work. But be careful, you may unintentionally let some of the fear slip in and fail.

Such a simple idea, yet it might just work. I'll try that hopefully in my next lucid dream and see if it works, thanks Legendary Prince!
