Ok some people may not like this idea because your going to end up wasting a Lucid Dream to find out the results. What I'am wondering is this. Has anyone ever become Lucid and just stood there..like im serious.. Just stood in one spot to see how long your Lucid Dream would last? You'd obviously would be calm, you wouldn't be doing anything that would get you too excited to wake you up. I'm also wondering how vivid the dream would become after sitting there so long looking at your surroundings. I'm thinking about doing, I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this?

hmm, guess you would just stand there, or your mind would think of something for you to do to keep itself busy.

I wondered the same thing, but since I am a new LDer I didn't want to waste it, as you said.

That might happen, I find I'm more likely to lose lucidity while I'm doing something I usually do during the day. The closest I come to just standing around in my dream was when I was just laying down in my dream; I was trying to think of what I should do in a lucid dream. But as for a wondering mind it would more than likely make things happen. I find that in my lucid dreams things happen whether I'm concentrating my mind for them to happen or if the thought is just passing by. I was standing on a highway in my dream once thinking or what to do and looking around. I saw this car parked on top of this highway hill. For 1 second I briefly thought about the car coming down the hill, and it happened.

For me, I think I would loose lucidity... After a while it would be hard to concentrate... and you would end up thinking about something else... which would probably cause you to loose your lucidity.

I've had a few experiences with doing "nothing" in a lucid dream.

In one, I sat down on the floor of a grocery store and sort of meditated with my eyes open. That lasted for about 5 mins or so and then some stranger walked up to me and asked if I wanted to spar, so I said sure, and I got up and we started fighting.

But (probably the best example) there was one time where I realized I was dreaming while in the waiting room for some laboratory that was conducting paranormal experiments (telekinesis, telepathy, etc.) I was so intrigued that I sat down in one of the chairs in the waiting room and started reading from a magazine on parapsychology (the text kept changing,) but I just sat there for what seemed like a good 45 mins just waiting for my turn. I ended up waking up before anything happened though, but it took a hell of a long time. Haha.

You know, you'd think so, but I thought it was fascinating. I just kinda sat there in awe of how real everything was. I never get tired of taking a moment to appreciate being surrounded by a world of my own mental imagery. I've had plenty of action-packed lucids before then, and I know I'll have plenty more. One's gotta be open to stopping and smelling the roses, sometime.

If you just stood without any interest in anything, you would probably wake up. If you participate in a dream, you are likely to have it laste longer. If you don't participate (like closing your eyes, or just standing on a spot) theres a fairly good chance, that you will end up awake.
The only measurable difference between the dream world and the regular one is whether the laws of "nature" are consistent in identical experiments.

Pretty interesting, actually. Mostly it was information that I've recently picked up, while reading parapsychology stuff in the waking world, but it was stuff that I'd mostly forgot about reading, before then. So, reading it again, I was like "Ohhh yeaaah. I forgot all about that." Lol. Can't remember exactly what it was, though, but I'm sure it's in my journal.
As far as the text changing: I figured out the text was changing by accident. I got close to the end of a paragraph and then lost my place. I went back to the beginning of the paragraph and it was a completely different paragraph. Still talking about parapsychology, but going into a different area of it. Then, just to test it, I got to the end of the paragraph, went back to the beginning, and it changed again. Lol. I didn't have any trouble reading the words, though.

I wouldn't do it in the first place. Because I mean...why would you want to do that? it would get boring if it lasted REALLY long. Yet, you just stand there. I would create a hot DC char to keep ym company if I did try that.

I personally love just walking around admiring the dreamscape, doing "nothing" when I am lucid, so this is not too much of a change from what I already do.

Standing still, I think, wouldn't be too much different. A wandering mind could be a problem if you really can't admire the dreamscape, but I wouldn't know firsthand. As for time... it would depend on how early you went lucid, but time also kind of loses meaning in dreamland (for me at least), so keep that in mind. I would recomend trying it at least once, if you get the chance.

I would think that standing still and really trying to observe sights and sounds around you could make the dream more real. I would suggest repeating to yourself that it's a dream so you don't forget, or wake up, I try to do this whenever I become lucid. maybe after standing there awhile, you could try and mentally change something. This would be good practice for controlling your dreams, start small!

yeah I have stoped for a few minutes to look around at the dream and then went on with whatever I was doing. But if you do stop for too long you will probably come out of the dream.

lol one thing I was told that I should do if I'm ever lucid enough to do this, was to look at the sky in the dream. Don't change it just look at it as soon as you become lucid. Its supposed to be very beutiful.
