Before joining this site, my spontaneous lucid dreams originated from an unintentional reality check. I'd lean on a window or computer screen, and suddenly I'd be going through it! I also relied on this reality check for a few lucids afterwards.
I've been having lucids constantly lately. I've flown, summoned, and shapeshifted. I've even modified my environment. But even with all of these new developments, I've noticed a disturbing one: I can no longer pass through solid objects (and glass). It started out as not being able to walk through screens and gates, but in my past five lucids, I've had to actually open the door/window to exit.
In one lucid, toward the end I was in a bus. I wanted to go through the window, but my fingers thumped against the glass. I slowed everything down, and thought aloud, "hey. This is a dream. This glass is not real, thus I should be able to go through." I tried again, and failed. I bit my finger, and it ironically phased through my teeth, and I felt no pain. I then woke up.
In my lucid this morning, everything was super. I was flying over a highway, zooming just a little faster than the cars, and saw a family of DCs zooming too, only they were standing. Curious, I followed them into a building. Once I got in the building, I found myself unable to escape. There were no doors, only windows, which were tightly shut. I could pound my fist and feel the pain, but could not phase through.
But what I really want to know is, why can I perform some tasks while lucid, while others seem to deterriorate as time passes?
