      Sutternalt's Guide to Semi-Lucid Method of Control

      Sutternalt's Guide to:
      The Semi-Lucid Method of Control

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      The Semi-Lucid Method of Contol is different from both Passive and Active dream control. It abides by the laws of your dream while still letting you exert control over your dream.
      A problem with this method is the much higher chance that you might lose lucidity. However, this method is more basic (by that I mean easier to do [in theory]) than some of the other methods. Also, you can fly easier, although there is no garuntee that you will be able to fly unaided.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      How to do it

      The key to the Semi-Lucid Method of Control is to know that you are dreaming, but accept the rules of the dream world. For instance, let's say Colin is dreaming about an empty parking lot.

      Colin: Hmm. That's odd. There aren't any empty parking lots in New York City. I must be dreaming.

      Once Colin realizes that he is dreaming, he has two constant responsibilities:

      1. NEVER forget that he is dreaming. Or else he loses lucidity. For good luck, he should remind himself every twenty seconds or so that he is dreaming.

      2. He also can't change the laws of the dreamverse that are already established. If he knows he can't fly because he has tried to fly before he was lucid, then he can't fly. Period.

      However, and here's the good part, IF something hasn't been established already, then HE may establish it. Example:

      Colin: Dang! I can't fly because I couldn't when I wasn't lucid. But, I know I can make things appear out of nothing. Everyone can.

      And then he makes jet boots appear out of nowhere, so now he can fly, with the jetboots. But then there is another problem here. If you are trying to fight someone, then they can do everything you can (since you set the laws of the dreamverse, the ENTIRE dreamverse), which means that they can shoot fireballs from their eyeballs just as well as you can. Be careful.

      Also, never forget that you are dreaming. This can be quite easy to do because you aren't ever breaking any laws of the dreamverse, merely creating them, and once you create a law, you rarely have to worry about doing whatever again. In other words, whenever you want a glass of water, you don't have to think:
      Oh, I'm dreaming. Okay. Around the next corner will be a glass of water.
      Instead, you merely think:
      Gee, I'm thirsty.
      And then, because you can create objects out of nowhere (everyone can), a glass of water appears.

      That's why it is called semi-lucid; you don't have to stay strictly lucid, because those laws that you established almost always apply. If in fact they don't, which is rare, go with it. Try to fix problems while staying within the laws of the dreamverse.

      Spoiler! Highlight below. WARNING: This may and probably will affect your control (for the worse!) with this method!!!!!

      This is Entirely Experimental, and I have hardly used this method. It just occured to me one day. I probably shouldn't have included that. your fault for reading it!

      Well it seems that you put a lot of work into that, and your rules are sound but why would anyone use them? They don't sound fun at all.

      yer, this indeed relates to what I do in my LDs. once im aware Im dreaming, I don't try to change anything and instead just go with the flow of the dream.
      And to summon things I don't need to remind myself how lucid I am, I just do things with the though that there's no limit to anything and that this indeed is a limitless dream.

      Good point there
