      Talking to Subconciousness

How do you do it? And how do you know it's your subconscious and not some random dream character who says they're your subconscious?

I dunno... those DC's are treating little demons!

And who cares what your subconscious has to say?!

      NIHILISM!

lol jk I dislike nihilistic beliefs... but anyway...

Umm... I really don't know what I think about this whole "communication with the subconscious" thing but if you're really into it, maybe try communicating with it without it being in the form of a DC... like a booming voice from above or some kind of Deus ex Machina thing... just a thought

Summon a physical manifesation of your SC. It's simple dream control, if you have good control you should be able to do it.
If you're the one who summoned it it's likely its not a random DC

      Hey there,

If you go with the assumption that the unconscious creates and governs your dream, then ANY dreamcharacter is a part of your unconsciousness, and therefor a representation of it

The main difficulty would be to overcome or rather to push aside your own expectations. You see a zombie. You expect the zombie to attack you. So your expectation would make it attack you when you try to ask it questions.

Or you might see your teacher, who thinks dreams are a waste of time. Asking him questions would probably result in dismissive answers because you're associating him with someone who you'd expect to be negative about dreaming in general.

That's why people like to create some sort of 'avatar' or 'physical person' that is supposed to represent the unconsciousness. That way their expectation falls in line with the answers they want. But in truth, any dream character would do. In fact, if you could truly shove aside all your expectations, you wouldn't even need a dreamcharacter at all. You could just talk and get an answer, without there being anything

Anyways, if we translate this to a more practical level: find something or someone that makes an good representation of the unconscious for you. Perhaps your own mirror image, perhaps Freud, perhaps some sort of flaming ball of light, perhaps some animal guide... etc etc. Whatever you feel makes you think of the unconscious.

      Hope that helps,

How would you know? I guess you would just 'know', for me it was a gut-instinct and when I spoke to the DC\DG it agreed.

A dream guide I have one told me that I don't talk directly to my subconscious but through a symbol, a representative, it then told me it was one such representative.

It's nice to use for finding answers to hard coursework problems. Hehe, never knew that I picked up so much from my surroundings but never consciously recollected. Sometimes it refuses to respond.

I've tried to make it to my subconcious a few times. The first time I intended to get there I walked down a near eternal flight of stairs, got to a door, opened it and in a room there was a luminous creature standing there looking at me. It said, "How may I help you?" This scared the crap out of me as I hadn't expected anything to be there. I'd only gone to the room to plant a suggestion.

I have encountered my sub concious in other lucids but that was the first time I set out to find it. And when you find it you just KNOW.
