I guess the setting would change, but it's not like you're entering another state of conciousness or anything. And if you woke up from that dream, you would probably just wake up.

And wouldn't you have to become lucid in that dream in order to control it?

Think it's probably be possible but it would be the same feeling if you just transitioned from one LD to another. It could be a dream inside a dream, or a dream next to another dream.
Jen was 13 years old. A fairly normal girl. She spent a lot of time online.
One day, she made a new friend. He liked the same bands, worried about the same subjects.
They decided to meet at the local mall. She went. So did he.
Only he wasn't in junior high.
HE WAS A 1500 LB GRIZZLY BEAR.
1 in 5 children online get eaten by wild bears. And you didn't even know bears could type.

In the waking world you have a physical world and an imaginative world.

When you dream there's just imagination. If you imagine something in an imagination, it's the same thing. This is why if you "imagine" that you're somewhere else in a dream, you might just end up there.

Everything is based on one single plateau. At least thats my way of seeing it.
