      Help!?!?

Ok, EVERY time i attempt flying in my LD's no matter what technique it is, all i end up doing is moonjumping about 3 feet in the air and then come back down, i spent the entire length of my LD last night (Which actually felt quite lengthy) trying, with no prevail!

Really starting to annoy me... is there anything i'm missing? =[

Instead of thinking about flying, think about hovering... Try jumping off tall buildings and convince yourself that you will fly...

I attempted jumping off my house after learning to Wall Walk up it, but that didn't really work, maybe something taller... i'll have to learn to change my dream scenes so i can jump off a taller building.

Try to just imagine yourself and expecting it to happend, that you're going to just float away.
Think of it like swiming in the air to begin with, not making a large jump or something like that. And once you've got it it's easy.
      I have that as a RC, if i can't fly then i ain't dreaming =)

WHen things don't work out like that, you can end up focusing on the failure more that the move you want to pull off, pretty much guaranteeing it won't work.

Concentrate on your goal, and not how you're going to accomplish it. You could try watching movies where people jump around like that before bed, that always helps. Matrix/Jedi skills and stuff like that.

I got ya. Listen, you have the power to fly and you have not identified a means of flight control. Take that into thought and what do you get ?? I got the ability to control my altitude with my right hand and to manage speed in the left. In the mind, I manage direction of course. Doesn't that make a heavy dump of sense ??

Yep. My advice is if you fail something during a lucid dream, just chill out and come back to it later, or even in your next lucid dream. Getting frustrated from repeated failures is not going to do any good.

As for techniques, instead of jumping into flight, try this. Stand still and look up into the sky, and then imagine yourself lifting off the ground as if by some external force. Imagine it as vividly as you can: think about how the wind will feel as it whips by, think about the feeling of motion you will experience in your body, think about the ground and objects around you lowering out of view, etc. I think you will find yourself raising into the air.

The principle here is that you're trying to distance yourself from your "jumping" schema (which inevitably involves coming back down) and instead activate your "flying" schema. I also find it sometimes helpful to extend my arms in a sort of Superman position. This may take some sustained concentration at first. I had the same problem as you when I was new to being lucid, but after a few years of practicing flying in the manner I just described, it is rather effortless now.

      Good luck!
