      Using LD's for Studying?

Since everything you ever read is stored in your subconscious somewhere, couldnt you theoretically use LDing to study for tests? Literally both Pull an 'all-nighter' and get lots of sleep? And if you can control time you could study for a test for hours. If you were studying history you could use what you know to place yourself in a big battle in the Civil war or something.

I dont know exactly how this would work (or even if it would work at all because its hard to read in dreams), but does it sound like something you could do?

i think you would have to be careful though. Your mind might just feed you false information that your imagination might make up...

thats a very smart idea, sometimes when i am tired i lie down and i think about things i read in my text book. it feels like i am repeating information but it is nonsensical information

Good thought but nightowl is completely right... One thing you CAN do is if you are doing some sort of "creative writing" assingment that is something like "place yourself in the civil war - what are your feelings and other stuff" You could place yourself right there in a dream and get an A++ (not only that, but you could control that and go on a realistic adventure and write a short little book (with like 100 or so pages) it would be so cool... yeahh...

This is a great idea. Stephen Laberge had some pages about this in his book. I got really exiting when reading it, and ive already made my dream labratory that im going to the next time i have a LD, and that im really looking forward to. I also think ive heard somewhere that Einstein, if not was a LD, had a dream labratory where he tested out his theories and stuff. Its the ultimate place to test out thing! If Nuclear bombs just could be tested out in this state Greenpeace wouldnt be demonstrating all the time.

I know that even if you're not lucid, the previous material you have studied in waking life is definately incubated and synthesized while you are in dream state.

I remember I had to memorize Bible verses all the time in elementary school...I'd struggle over it during the nite, and it was just so hard! I'd go to sleep with a low sense of accomplishment, and lo and behold...in the morning I'm sharp as a blade! I could say it all verbatim.

its cool how in dreams your aspects of your real life get incorporated in to your dreams flawlessly.

I have had several occasions where I have gotten notes from someone in a dream and have looked to find real contents inside them, thouigh they are from a different class it seemed real.

I have tried to bring one of the midterm tests to the real world with out success.

I had one where my uncle taught a class and I asked him questions that I had from my real life and the subject matter was the same as what I was studying. The diagrams were also the same too.

It is very cool how this works like the real world.

the only studying that you could use i think is math in dreams becouse 1+1 should always = 2. but math can be evil for there is a way to get a 8x8 square with area of 64 to be come a 5x13 rectange with area 65 i know why but it is not an exact science. but studying can get very hard in dreams for you could make ups stuff like there was a pesident called george bush and stuff like that
you can't do that on the internet!.... wait yes you can do it again!

If I can focus enough to LD during college, I'm definitely going to use it to study my Russian language and history classes. Lit will probably be different and trying to perform in marching band in LD is my idea of a waste of time. It's fun IRL, but in an LD? I have better things to do.

It would work... but you'd need excellent dream control (Plus self-control, I mean comeon, you have a lucid, and you study with the time?).

And stay away from math... Math in dreams isn't usually good. Learning languages or creative writing could definitely work though.

Exactly. I have an idea but Im not sure if it would work:

Ok what would happen if in my dream I made myself only speak in Spanish. If I wanted them too, would the DCs speak it back to me? Or can I not control that at all...?

      Spanish <----- Child's play.

      Russian <----- Fun!

But I suppose everyone's different. I may even try to use LDs to study for my history or lit classes...that'd be interesting.
