      How to prolong lucid dreaming.

Like for example how could you make a dream last 2 days in your dream or longer, but in the waken life only 15 minutes? feel free to share all

I've noticed that lucid dreams have a higher chance of being in real time and thus last shorter or percieve to... I'm not sure though.

Once in a non-lucid I had a dream last 2 months. Everything was totally realistic. It was set in a city that my mind made up but the city remained consistent and 100% vivid the entire time. Nothing changed randomly, nothing was science-fictiony. At any rate the city was similar to New York City and I was a grown bachellor with my own mundane job and an ordinary family.

Each day in the dream was like a real day. I got up in my apartment, (that once again stayed the same throughout the whole dream once again,) I went
to my job, afterwards maybe hit up a bar with some friends or watched a movie or saw my mom. None of my family, friends, or co-workers were anyone that I've ever met but each had disticnt personalities and lives and histories that I knew.

Getting into the dream was easy, as the moment it started I knew everyone that was a DC and all seemed familiar. Getting out of the dream was not so easy. When I woke up I had no idea where I was. And then things in my real life started to spill back in. I had to get up and get ready for school. I didn't know how I was just going to do that. I didn't feel like I was Aaron. I felt like I was my dream alias. It was hard to get back into my life for a while.

I presume it lasted so long because it was so REAL. My realistic dreams seem to last longer than my non-realistic ones.

Anyway, I would really like to hear the answers to this as well. Hopefully my story can help some people formulate some answers but I'm curious WHY it happened to me the way it did. Maybe the answer is in there, I don't know.

Hm... when I get too desesperate to do so, I have to eat chocolate (in the dream) so I don't wake up and 1min becomes 1hour, other than that its mere concentration to make DT slower so you can get fun in the LD.

Holy crap! Thats like Vanilla Sky shit right there. I've had dreams where I've gone through an entire day at school (and ironically in that dream I slept through my classes). Just waking up and realizing I still had to go to the school that I hated was a strain. So I can't imagine the shock of what you're describing.

Anyway I've heard of people who spent days or even years in lucid dreams.

From experience of having so many LDs...it is very possible to 'stretch' the LD significantly. It's all about fighting the urge to wake up and keeping calm, if you can maintain that, you are prolonging it. To help, you can use spinning or hands rubbing but the idea is the same...to fight the urge to wake up by focusing your tactile sensation of rubbing or spatial focus by spinning. It's safe to say after having so many LDs that you can't win them all. The very nature of LDing is that you are about to wake up. The more lucid you are, the higher chance of waking up and vice versa....it's always the same parameters in all my LDs. So to really prolong the LD for practical purpose you need to learn to fight the urge to wake up and yet be calm and continue dreaming.

The main problem I have with LDs is when I decide to sleep in because I'm in the middle of a good one. I'd love to have a truly epic dream. Its been a while.

      Holy hell mate.

That's my worst nightmare to have a long dream like that.

That would be like one of those dreams that you wake up and still think it's real UNTIL you find out it's not, but worse.

Hmmmm. I guess while Lucid you could create some kind of pill and say, "If I take this pill, this dream will last _______ ."

      That might work.

GOOD WILD's: 4 (Got it down Bitches!)
      GOOD DILD's: 3
      Short LD's: At Least 40

Have you tried lying. I found a way to make dreams feel like they've lasted pretty long. When completely lucid, you would say to yourself "oh my god, I been dreaming for 2 weeks now!". This will make the dream itself feel pretty long, so check it out.
