Yeah, I agree with the above post. Before I attempt a LD I repeat in my head that if I see my hands while I'm dreaming I'll know that I'm dreaming. As soon as I become lucid I immediately look at my hands and study them, helping to ground me in the fact that I'm LDing.
Then I try to tell myself something like this, "I'm dreaming. This is a dream. My physical body is lying in bed in my room and this is a dream."
It helps give you an odd sense of separation while making you aware of the unity of your body and mind. It's really hard to explain, but try telling yourself something that makes you think of you're body just lying in bed while you're focusing on the dream world.
Once I even heard a plastic bag type of noise in my dream and I knew it was just my parents fixing breakfast so in my dream I told myself, "That noise I hear is just my parents fixing breakfast." I was still able to stay in the dream.
