strange but new method for flying

Somehow in my LD last night I thought of a new method to fly. Instead of "trying to fly" I just decided to change the direction of gravity and then i would "fall" in the direction that I was trying to fly to. It was pretty awesome and allowed me to fly pretty fast.

      Hey man, whatever works.

I think I might find "falling" through the air slightly disconcerting, though.

That's a different approach...although I kind of did the same thing. I pictured myself in a square box type room. I moved the room away from my feet...kind of like i was the center and would everything else was moving around me.

no... I guess I was just changing my own gravity. Kind of like what the above poster said

The only problem I can foresee with this is that it seems to require a lot more concentration and thought. Though, I would go for it. Kind of reminds me of Ender's Game.

It would seem like that, but I find trying to fly to take more thought. In my dream at least, I just thought/decided "fall that way" "go that way" etc. I did fly a bit because just being thrown around would suck. I don't know though, my mind just made it work without jerking around.

I like getting the wind to blow me around. Weather control is fun.

I think I figured out why flying doesn't work sometimes. It seems you have to be 100% positive it will work. as soon as the thought even enter sthe back of your mind that the stopping of flight is possible, I seem to loose the ability. Even a "too good to be true" reaction can cancell it out for me. The gravity thing seems like it would easily override that. Possibly allow you to get more speed too, rather than forcing speed you simply imagine a few billion suns tugging on you n_n
      good times
