Best way to fly. works perfectly every time for me.

well iv found the best way to fly for me is to imagine a broom, like a wich, and use that. im sure you can use other things, like a flying carpet or jet pack. when i use the broom i dont have as much freedom as normal, but i never fall or have to concentrate on flying because the brooms doing the work for me. =]

Moved to dream control~ Remember that controlling your dreams is almost always subjective, and the 'best' way to do something might only apply to you While I'm glad you've found something that works for you, and I love the idea, I don't think it could be called a universal 'best' I might try this in my next lucid, though ~

That's what you get for being a Harry Potter fan... I'm serious. Most likely HP is the biggest single source of material you've been exposed to that has people flying. That builds up an archetype of flying with brooms that you are able to use in your dreams. If that is your main intake of flying inspiration, then other methods of flying won't be as reliable for you because they don't have that well developed archetype supporting them. Other than broomstick flying, your other two best options for flight would be standing up straight, or sitting down like you're in a car. We're most used to moving around while standing up, and that association makes movement while flying easier as well. The sitting/car movement connection works just as well, and you don't really need the broom.

actualy dont like harry potter lol. i came up with this when i was very young. i think befor i even knew who he was. i just had a dream i was flying on a broom and iv used it ever sens lol i just figured using "something" to fly is way easier. because you expect that item to do that. like if you were flying, you'd have to focus constantly on flying, but if your on a broom, the broom flys for you, you can concentrate more on your suroundings and which direction to go. well at least that's how it is for me =] oh, though, i do remember a non lucid dream where i had angel wings and flew perfectly. i should try that =]]

I find a lot of trouble actually flying on my own, but it helps me if I try to "swim through the air" I can get around that way. Or super-skipping. Like skipping, but going super high.
