Well, I assume you already know to not get excited. Be very calm, don't focus all your attention on being calm, simply try to relax, dream spinning never worked for me when I started fading, if anything it made it worse. I would recommend looking at your hands and rubbing them together, focus on the detail in your hands, and the way it feels and looks. Certain things work for certain people, if that doesn't work, keep trying, it could all just be a coincidence that you're becoming lucid at the end of your REM cycle. If you know there's no way to stay in the dream, let the dream fade, and stay still and try to have a DEILD. |

Personally I despise spinning. Have you read the stabilization tutorial? |

I find the best way for me to stay in a dream is to keep moving... Like, if you think you're fading, just start running in a random direction... You might get swept up back into normal dreaming, out of control for a bit... But I'd rather have a patchy lucid dream then end up just waking up. |

ninja9578 once told me that, if you're having too much trouble staying in the dream, just relax when you feel you're waking up and make sure you won't move or open your eyes when you wake up, then DEILD back into the dream |

Spoiler for Goals:
My father once said he believed lucid dreaming only occured as a person would start to wake up, however I personally proved him wrong when I had a lucid dream for 45 minutes. And people have had longer lucid dreams too. Although in saying that, I do have to rub my hands every few minutes to avoid waking sometimes. |
