Need Help With A Celebrity Dream

I had a weird dream last night and hope that someone could help me get to the bottom of it. Usually I dont have an issue finding meaning in my dreams, but when they involve celebrities of sorts, its hard to determine meaning.

In the dream me and my mom are watching the TV show Survivor. However, its the middle of the season and they are showing the finale and who won. The person that won was the guy who won this past season, but instead of being all cleaned up for the finale, he was still in his island roughed up clothes. After they announced that he had won, it shifted to a mid season episode. In the episode they had a challenge. The challenge was that you were supposed to build this big stick man, run him up to the top of this big but narrow cliff, and attach him on the edge. However, at the time of the challenge the winds were very strong and dangerous. The guy that won decided that he was going to one up everyone and build his stick man at the edge of the cliff. He went to go do so, but as he was putting it together the winds started getting really strong. For reference, the sticks were tan and the head was white. Automatically the dream cuts ahead. This time I am in the show, but standing below the cliff watching garbage fall off and wash into the shore (I can remember most of the garbage being orange and blue scraps of paper). The shows host isnt there, but is narrating this part as if Im in the show, but at the same time still watching it on TV. He says that during the taping of the show the winds got too strong and he fell off the cliff and died. In shocked I asked how that was possible, seeing as though we already saw the finale and he won. The host told me that it was set up to look like he won, because they didnt want everyone to know he died. Only other thing I could remember is that as this narration was going on, the sun was setting.

I realized that my mom was standing behind me. The host asked us where our biggest obsticals came in and that we need to confront them. My mom says hers was in Las Vagas. So then us and the other contestants started swimming, saying we were going there. In a matter of seconds we were there and it looked exactly like the island we were on. We swam up to the shore, but once we got there the host asked me about where my obsticals were. I said Los Angeles, so we started swimming there, but thats where the dream ended.

A few background things :

- Both me and my mom do watch Survivor. Honestly, my opinions of the guy were neutral. Part of me felt that while the guy appeared to be dumb, it was all just a bunch of people underestimating what the guy could do.

- My parents have taken a trip to Vagas before, but had a very good time. At the same time, I lived in LA for a year and had a rough time.

Any ideas?

Maybe the guy is a metaphor for yourself, that people may underestimate what you're really capable of. Other themes I'm getting is that it may be dangerous to one up people Do you ever feel like you try to do this in waking life? The dream may be telling you that you may stir up more than you can handle by doing that (dangerous winds). Also that maybe you need to confront whatever issues you were having that made it a rough year for you in LA.

I can see a similar theme coming in, because I am trying to make myself on an even playing field with everyone else that I know. However, I do not try to one up people. In fact, I dont have much of an ego.

Oh, o.k. I gotcha. If you don't have much of an ego, maybe the dream is showing that people underestimate you or that you feel that they do. Another idea, maybe the dream is showing that you feel it is a bit dangerous to put yourself out there and show what you're made of or capable of?
