      Religious dream

Last night, most of my dream revolved around religion. These are the most vivid scenes:

-Me and my father were in an unfamiliar room; a dining room, perhaps? He seemed to be preparing for some sort of religious lesson/gathering with my aunt (his sister). He wanted me to skip it, but I kept trying to convince him that I could deal with it.

-In real life, I have a Mormon friend. In the dream, I started attending his church. Later on, it become a Christian church.

-This is the most vivid part. I was standing in front of a large body of water. I think another person was present, but I couldn't see who it was. I yelled, "I accept Jesus into my heart!" I was standing with my arms straight out at my sides, and when I said that, my hair started blowing back, as if I were standing in front of a fan. Across the water, fireworks started exploding into the sky. It was such an amazing image.

The weirdest part of all? In real life, I'm an atheist, and I haven't attended an actual church service in 7-8 years.

Needless to say, I was very intrigued by this dream. Any ideas as to what this could mean?

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

________First let me say, I am NOT a religious person. I believe religion is responsible for more wars and death and separation of cultures than any other one thing on this planet. That being said, I am a Spiritual Person....meaning I believe there are spiritual laws and creative intelligence that rule our universe, so complex and intelligent, we can only begin to grasp the knowledge. I think the dream is about Spirit encouraging you to seek Spiritual Truth, as I do believe Jesus, was an Ascended Master on this planet, as was Buddha, Gandhi, and others. Wayshowers. How to live on planet Earth and learn. Dreams encourage our naturally curious minds to seek the truth. A long time ago, someone gave me a book, "There is a River" about Edgar Cayce. About the same time I found a book on dreams by Tony Crisp. I read a lot by Charles Leadbetter and Rudolph Steiner. Seek your own understanding and you will be fine. Just never blindly believe what anyone "toldyou" youshoud. The creative intelligence that created the universe would never hope you would be a sheep of religion but believe in the natural laws of the Universe. And if everyone did, War would not exist.

My dear friend TravelLight and I are friends with mutual respect, and yet peacefully retain different views on faith. I believe that Jesus is the one and only son of God that has come here to earth in order to pay the price for our sins so that we will be free of Gods judgment and condemnation while living here, and so we can be adopted through him as children of the living God, also so that His spirit/ghost can inhabit us here on earth to give us supernatural power and wisdom to help others, not to glorify ourselves, and do deal the final blow on Satan's plans to rule and reign on this earth. It is very possible that you are being called to re-commit or for the first time commit your life to God through His son, and to develop a personal relationship with Him.....not with the spirit of "religion." Water speaks of the Holy Spirit and the two step baptism in the bible. You are standing before water for a VERY specific reason. The wind in your hair is another biblical symbolism of the presence of the Holy Spirit. In John 3:3-21 (New International Version) it says; "Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son (not Budah or Muhammed). This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."

So step into the water and be baptized and made a son of the living God. God has a plan for your life.

Do some research. Most of the wars in history were caused by water. Actual religious wars count for about 10% of the world's wars. Most of the atrocities committed in this Century and the past were by atheist or secular regimes. You know, Hitler, Stalin, Mao? And over half of those wars were caused by Islam.

Underhiswing....With all due respect, I am taking myself off this board. I don't go to dreamboards for sermons on the mount.

Your bitterness was a surprise. I hope whatever has caused this bitterness is healed in you someday.

Under...I'm not bitter at all, just very tired of having to wade through people's personal agenda's on message boards. Religious zealots bend the words of the Bible to suit their needs. It's a book written by mortal men thousands of years ago, transcribed and translated many times to suit the needs of whoever was in power. The symbolism is honored when it suits the agenda of a religion and ignored, like thou shall not kill, when that religion supports a war. I do not believe dream boards are the correct place for preaching.

That is the miracle of the bible. as it is been translated many times and yet when they found the dead sea scrolls recently, the message was the same. So the meaning and wisdom remain in that book because of the power of God influencing those who translate it.

I think this is the perfect place to offer others the truth and love. So many people on these forums need love or just a kind word and some wisdom. The depth of wisdom in the bible is beyond any man and any "arm chair psychology" that I or anyone else could give.

I know that something must have happened during your life, that caused these feelings that you have. Did someone of faith let you down or hurt you?

ok, first let me point out i believe in jesus but I do not believe in the bible nor religion. I feel it is corrupt and was made to control man kind. you can believe in Jesus and not be associated to any type of religion. I realize jesus doesn't care if you go to church 7 days a week and go to bible study. All that makes him happy at the end of the day is that you love him and believe in him. I don't trust my government but I believe in my country.

People are responsible for wars, not religion.

I love monks I feel they are very peaceful. The bible and religion is a rut. I've read the bible it didn't cause me any good. All that I feel that matters at the end of the day is if you love your self and the next person. All I am trying to say is you love the human race equally. Love can over power anything. If you ever been in love you know what I am talking about.
