      -----------------------------------
My dream started off entering a abandoned building with no walls. I looked around thinking who must have been there recently. There was Very very large fruit sitting on the three tables ahead of me as I stand in the door way, There were 3 watermelons, One watermelon on each table. I imagined someone eating the fruit, actually I imagined 3 people at each table, Alone eating there over sized watermelon. After a while I went outside as the house was making me think too much. The only emotion I can say for sure I felt was curiosity and turned around to go back outside. When I got outside, I looked to my right and there was a drive way. In the drive way was 2 crates, they looked like milk carton distribution crates, On the 2 crates was a carved piece of Melon. A huge carved piece melon, It must have been 4 foot long and 2 foot high, With each side of the fruit part of the melon resting on one of the crates. Behind the Melon was a brick wall, After another while, I got bored, and decided to venture to see what else I would find. I had no fear, Just curiosity, The whole time. In what seemed like a blink of an eye, I was all of a sudden in a parking lot, Now looking back, It was in the shape of the parking lot at the Travel Plaza in South Carolina where we stopped on the greyhound trip, Except The building wasn't there. Walking straight up the parking lot, to my right was a forest, I started to feel the presence of another being, like a incomplete person. I looked ahead to see a strange black shadow person. What was weird is I still had no fear, Curiosity still went through me, I don't know exactly what my motive was to do once I got close. All I know is that my motive was indeed to get close. So, I continued very confidently toward this figure. Since it is most common to see them out of peripheral vision, you should know I looked straight at it. When I was about 5 feet away from the figure, He let out a loud scream as if he was afraid, And The way he ran showed he was in fear for some reason. He ran so fast But yet, I somehow kept my eye on him to the edge of the forest as he disappeared.

This isn't the first time I've seen a shadow being, I've seen many in real life since I was a kid, and I always looked straight at it. Shadow beings just never seemed to want to mess with me like they do others, I've caught them doing things like dancing around my fiance, and soon as they know I caught them they disappear. I feel there presence mostly in the closet at night,They never come out But, I know they are in there sometimes. Although, I don't feel the threat others do from them. I've also had friends come to my house and keep jumping saying they've seen the shadow being, outside, inside, or around my house. I tend to laugh and tell them that I dare them to mess with me, Which furthers my friend's fears of being paralyzed and terrorized by them like they've heard from others experiences. I also must mention after meditating on this dream to try to possibly remember all I can, I felt the sadness you feel when someone dies, When I realized I never got the opportunity to do whatever it was that my soul was intending to do, It was very saddening for some reason to me.

      My questions are:

      What does this dream mean?

Why do I not feel the same presence as most people?

Do you think that the Shadow being was afraid?

If so, What do you think he/she is afraid of?

Has there ever been anyone else who has had a dream similar to this?

Jung writes about an archetype called "The Shadow" (plenty via google) although I'm not so sure this shadow is the same.

If we start with the premise that our dream consciousness (for want of better term) creates characters which are projections of our own mind, we can assume that this shadow is a part of you. So how dows the personality of the shadow differ from what you believe your self to be? Start with simple traits - age, sex, language etc of the shadow and build up from there. Now, what goes through your mind when you say "I am ....." (whatever)? Something about the sadness you mention at the end sounds significant too.

Dreams, as in all language, have no meaning. Meaning is what one intends an action to accomplish. As such, it is the origin of a linguistic expression that means something, i.e. the origin of the dream that means to accomplish something--with you.

Thus, the more one understands language, the more one understands what someone may mean to accomplish by its use.

In only a emotional sense this being was unlike me, I am more of fighter than a flightier. Now that you say what you have said, I believe this maybe my fear of the future, That I won't get into a good college, Get a good job, etc. that is the only thing I think I am afraid of, is failure. He looked to be young, As he ran so fast. This whole time I have felt it to be a he, But doing more meditation on this creature, It did have female traits, Such as, The language it spoke, was like a female banshee scream but yet the demeanor was very masculine. After this all, I think the dream symbolized the confusion about who I am, what I want to be, and Where I want to go in life. Thank you very much for helping me to come to this understandable conclusion.

Fear of the future is our most basic fear because we use language to try and make the future happen, so that we can maintain and promote our life.

The job of the human mind is to "turn the past into the future and to bring the future to pass." That is the meaning of the name of the beast 666. That puzzle is a demonstration to mankind.

When one has an understanding of language, one will find it is the path to all answers. This understanding is called judgment.

Wow, That is some deep truth, I have learned so much about the past and the future in these last few years that I feel at one point I was probably very confident I knew everything. I have learned about numbers and the language behind them specifically the only thing I have come to fully understand is the number 7. I thank you very much for this knowledge as I have been looking for this information But I have to spend much more time on this to understand. I almost understand the meaning you explained But, I do not understand fully.

Glad to have been some use to you. It's quite normal to project out fears onto another person or dream character. In your case, you've managed to place a whole cluster of them onto one very identifiable character. You can learn a lot from your shadow.
