Has anyone else had the shadow man HH. It happened to me a few weeks after I heard about it on the discovery channel. I awoke in my dream paralysed in my bed and i could sense something evil in the dark corner of my room. This happend a couple nights in a row. Then for a couple of nights a shadowy figure would climb on top of me and hold me down in my bed. It was a HH so it felt like the shadow was holding my arms down. I remember waking up and thinking 'that was awesome'. I think that was what stopped it from coming back (my lack of fear), because i don't think it was a dream, I think i was in the astral dimension. According to the discovery channel it is a world wide phenomenon crossing all cultures.

A few weeks ago, i had some pain with my shoulder all the day. Then i slept late because of the pain. Pain was over right the moment as i fall asleep. But in my dream, i saw that shadow man standing in front of the door then it came in and hold my shoulder. I wanted to shout but i couldn't. Either i couldn't move. When my gf woke me up, i was really shouting and sense something slipping away on me. I had similar things before too. It's strange
I used to dream of the blue in your eyes, now my dreams are color blind.

That sounds like Old Hag Syndrome to me. This link will provide some more information -- make sure you read page 2 as well.

Thanks for the link. In that discovery channel show they mentioned the Old Hag as well. They said that these two phenomemnons were directly related. Some saw the Old Hag and some saw the Shawdow man. In that time period of my life I only saw the Old Hag breifly in a flicker just before deep sleep and she was in my television set across the kitchen in the living room. I awoke and saw reality and realized it was a "dream". The strange thing is that these creatures cross oceans and cultures.

I may be a little hard-core compare to some of this stuff on this site (i don't know i have not been on this site to long) but i have had so many nightmares that my good dreams are like nightmares to other people and I have done my research and talk to many people about dreams. You do get conditioned to the worst after awhile, and they ALL become amazing adventures especially the horrifying ones. So go a head and ROLF, because I do. Trust me it doesn't suck!

I agree, insane. Nightmares can be great fun and they are mostly alot more fun than regular dreams due to the excitement and adrenaline when conquering fear. Before I wanted to wake up quick when having them, but now I would rather stick to them and enjoy them to the last bit.

I have experienced being paralyzed in a state like that. It is one of the worst things I have ever felt. I did not know how to move altough I certainly have the capacity, which makes sense as the brain shuts off that when asleep. I did not have this Shadow Man in it, though.

What was that movie called where the lady got raped by the devil?

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
