      Dreams with children in them...

One of my big dreamsigns is children. If there are children in my dream I am almost always looking after them. I might be playing lego or some game with a child, or going to the movies, or at school as some sort of assistant. I might be helping a mother to look after a child.

In these dreams I am an adult as I am now. Usually we are doing some childlike thing. It's apparent that I'm not hanging out with these kids. I'm looking after them and trying to cater to their interests. I've tried looking this up on Google and have not found out what is meant by it.

Maybe its a desire for companionship and responsibility? I don't know.

      Fine, I'll be serious.

The Responsibility part maybe true- but look within yourself. I'm not big-time interpreter, but it may be your brain/subconscious taking itself back to a time it wishes to be once again.
Companionship ties into this, were you somewhat of an outcast (like I was) as a child?
Maybe it's your natural nature, you crave to be a father?

I do love childish things, so this could be true about wanting to be a kid again. I still play with lego and sleep with my carebears... I was also somewhat of an outcast so that seems to true as well.

But I don't wish to be a father. This is where it contradicts because I don't want that responsibility and I don't want my own child or marriage or anything that ties me down in a commitement sort of way.

Your mind is looking for security and peace in its own way, in this case, it's looking for pleasure or fulfillment of that earlier age. You want to live in that time because it was simpler, and your life was filled with less burdens (responsibility and commitment), and you want to find acceptance through this in order to compensate for what is (What I assume is) a bit of neglect from other "Regular" children when you were.

Hence why you get comfort and stimulus from things that you can relate to children, and your dreams attempt to create an alternate reality of you as acting as a child, while still an adult.
In other words, your mind is trying to create a scenario in your dreams where you can live out things you wanted to do/enjoyed doing as a child.

This is just an inference. I'm no psychologist (although I plan on studying to be one.)

This sounds like a possible reason. Thank you so much for taking the time to type this up.
