Simple dream about a stag followed by depression.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and seeking a little help. I don't really know anything about dream interpretation. Two nights ago I dreamt that it was night and I was standing in a clearing. A stag with the biggest antlers you have ever seen stepped out of the trees surrounding the clearing and walked up to me. I could hear people telling me he was going to attack me with his antlers. I was down on my knees and had a moment of panic... then the stag looked into my eyes and I knew he loved me completely. He started rubbing his face against mine. I reached up and put my hands on his face and we were nuzzling each other. I knew that he was being careful to keep his antlers from hitting my face. I loved him completely and he loved me. We were so happy to see one another and were so conntected - I felt like a long-lost friend/family member had returned. The feeling in the dream was pure love. That's it... lol. However, I don't have a clue what this dream means and I am so depressed now that I can barely function. I know that sounds stupid and crazy. Sorry, so long... can anyone help with a meaning for this? This was more than a dream somehow, but I don't know what to do about it or why I'd be depressed over something so beautiful. About me... 44, female, 2 grown sons, and married.

Yes, your stag sounds very much like a spirit guide! Judging by your age and position in life I would say it's a more mature evolution of the unicorn. The Unicorn is associated with Christ, eternal youth*and virginity. The Celts believed that a white stag*could pass between this world and the spirit world. The Druids believed that a stag was the king of the forest as symbolized by his crown of*horns. It also represented abundance and power.

Is someone telling you, that someone is a possible danger to you? I think this was an answer, that he/she is not a danger to you, even if it may look so. But the pure love you felt is so nice, enjoy it. It could be universe telling you that you are loved unconditionally. Reflect that love to yourself (love yourself) and to others.

I'm finding all of this so awesome and interesting. There is someone that I have been concerned about recently. They haven't threatened me in any way, but the idea was introduced by another person long ago. This person is really close to me and is very good to me. This puts my mind at ease. The pure love thing just blows me away and I'm pretty sure that's why the depression followed. I have only felt that two other times shortly after my mom died. The first time I was in this totally black void, but I was aware that I was dreaming and I wasn't afraid. Then I saw lights coming towards me - they turned out to be my mom, grandma, aunt, a great-aunt that died before I was born, and women I didn't know but knew they were family. They all hugged and kissed me, saying how much I looked like one of my aunts. The feeling was total love and acceptance. I worry if I'm a good person, but I knew for just a minute that I am exactly who I am meant to be and that we're loved and accepted more than we can comprehend. It's really hard to reflect that to myself though.. or even remember it day-to-day. In the 2nd one I woke in the middle of the night and my mom was standing in the bedroom. I was so happy to see her and I jumped out of bed, but then saw that my husband and I were still in bed. I said "Oh no, I'm dead!" but I felt so alive and light. My mom laughed and said "You don't need that to talk to me". I don't remember what we said, but the feeling of love was the same. I'm so off topic now, but I wish I had a way to experience that more. Glad to be able to discuss this - I never tell anyone. Thanks for the understanding and insight.
