      nightmares before upcoming event

      Hello.
I’m going to my favorite band concert next week. I’ve been waiting for this very long time and for the last few months I’ve been having these nightmares almost every day: It starts with me going to the gig. I come to the location, crowd is gathering and I feel elated to finally see them perform.
But I never see them; next thing is me just after the concert or the morning after and I know I have been there; I just have no memory of the evening. Like it never even happened. My friends are asking me how it was and I don’t know what to answer. Sometimes (I usually wake up before I get to do that) I get to the computer and I’m trying to find some pictures of the event on the internet and after I see them I still can’t remember anything. It doesn’t seem much like a nightmare, but every time I wake up with my heart pounding, covered in sweat and very anxious. I always feel disappointed.
I really want to know what those dreams mean because I experience them extremely emotional and even now I’m writing this with tears in my eyes even though I’m not a very emotional person. Also I’m a girl, 17 years old.
Anyone have any idea what this could mean?

Is this your first concert? If it is you be suffering from anxiety because you don't know how it will turn out, and you many be put in a situation you never been in before. If it is not your first concert then you many be afraid of disappointment, perhaps? By having no memory of it can imply that because you don't what to expect, your subconscious is doing a "feel in the blank" situation by creating a situation like "I don't remember that." When you did a web search about the concert, and couldn't find anything, it could mean that you may be worried that you won't be able to explain how the concert went because it is your first, and you are afraid of judgement. It could also be that someone in real life is discouraging you from going... I'm not sure.

I would recommend that you do some research on similar concerts. Read reviews, look up pictures, etc. And if you are worried about safety try looking up some basic self defense and self awareness articles. Also, at your age I would recommend going with someone else over 18. I'm just say'n.
