Thread: ...Duplicate cat?

So, a rather strange dreamsign has been forming in my dreams lately. I have a cat, and the past couple of weeks, I've had a few dreams where I saw my cat... two of him. You know, like they were twins or clones of each other. He's a siamese, quite grumpy and proud (but occasionally a lovebug). I have two dogs as well, but this hasn't ever happened with them. I'm pretty good at interpreting dreams, but this just absolutely baffles me to a hilarious point: the first time, I thought it was just one of those weird dream things, but the fact that it's recurring makes me wonder what the heck is going on or what it could mean.

Really, it's highly confusing seeing two of your same cat out of nowhere. Good for the lucidity rate (I've failed to brush this aside yet and it's always gotten me lucid), but highly confusing . Any ideas on what it could mean?

Maybe you want another cat ? In my first lucid dream, I started multiplying my cat over and over. Now I have 3 of them in waking life! Subconscious desire realization xD

Ooh, good point, I surely wouldn't mind another cat. I'll have to think about that one.

While this is interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened in my dreams, I never really thought of it that way, I didn't think one was a clone of the other, more like they were both my cat, you know?

Sounds like an interesting kind of dream, though. I'm curious how you managed to determine which one was the doppelganger.

For me whenever I would have a duplicate of my cat or a duplicate of one of my parents, it always meant that I would need to determine which one was the true one and I'd have to kill the doppelganger. Maybe you don't have as violent of an interpretation though.

Same. Cat doppelgangers are a regular nightmare scenario for me, go figure. I thought maybe it was something I picked up from the Matrix.

I always thought of it as a lesson to be learned. Don't trust people too easily, be able to recognize the false people, and when you do recognize them, make sure they don't do more harm then they already have.

I used to have problems with trusting people too easily so it could stem from that for me.

Copy cat?

How did I think of copy cat? I once had a nightmare about kidnappers when in reality one of the major events in my personal life involved a "kid napping." I once helped interpret a dream of someone who was chased by a horse in the dark and she herself realized it was a "night mare."

I think our dreaming minds love to play with ideas like that.

If you think "what a clever way of looking at it" and you realize it might apply to your personal life, please keep in mind that you are the clever one because it was your mind which likely used this clever trick while you were asleep.

There were times when I wouldn't really be able to tell and would have to just guess which one it is, there were other times when I just notice that one slipped up on pretending for a second and then I attack right away.
