Why am I recalling these dream?

Okay so I was with my ex for two years. We broke up and he was cheating on me for two months with this girl and they got together four days after we broke up. They have been together eight months now and I have been with my boyfriend for four months. But ever since I got my boyfriend I have been having recalls of my ex and I going to the beach, and us being back together and him telling me he loves me. I get about two of these dreams every week. I'm so tired of it. Sometimes I forget about my boyfriend now and I just dream about my ex and I being happy. I'm completely over him but the dreams don't help my relationship now.

Now to get on with answering your question! From what I understand dreams about a previous relationship or lover are pretty common when someone enters a new relationship. The general meaning I see is that your consciousness is still weighing up the good parts of your previous relationship and the bad parts, which actually isn't that bad, in a way it's like it's looking for good and bad things that happened in your past and trying to refine these things in a hope that your new relationship might work out better.

That's my general understanding of all that.. But if they keep continuing I'm not sure what it could be about. Hope I've helped in some way or another.
